The sound of the bedroom door opening barely processes on my mind before I'm being engulfed by a set of arms, warmth flooding through me as the boy presses his chest into my back, pulling me closer.
Hyunjin buries his face into my neck, "Holy shit- I missed you so much Minnie." He mumbles, his warm breath and words make my cheeks heat up to follow.
I let a small giggle escape my lips, slowly turning around in his arms to return the hug, wrapping my arms around his neck as Hyunjin lifts his head to meet my eyes.
His bright smile only lasts for a moment before his eyes loose their shine, "Minnie? Did you sleep okay?" He questions, tilting his head as he states intently at my eyes. "Are you sure you're feeling okay?-"
He's probably noticed my eye bags hasn't he?
"You said you'd wear 3 masks you liar." I ignore his question, hitting his chest playfully. Hyunjins arms loosen around my waist, allowing me to escape his grip to grab the rest of my things.
"Well you said you feel better now!" Hyunjin retaliates, walking up to the dresser mirror that I was fixing my tie in, keeping himself as close as possible to me.
My insides felt warm knowing he actually missed me, and that he cared about me this much.
I brush my bangs, fixing them with my finger tips, sneakily scanning for any balding spots without Hyunjin noticing. Just from looking at my reflection, my uniform looked way looser, no long hugging my shoulders, instead the inside shirt almost seemed baggy.
I shake my head to shake off the thoughts, looking back at Hyunjin next to me, a smirk playing my lips when I find him already staring at me, "Really missed me that much?"
"Hell yes."
Jeez when I said I wanted Hyunjin to be more honest about his feelings, I didn't think he would say things like that without a second thought.
With one last look at my reflection, I determined there was no need to add some powdered blush to my face today.
"You don't know how hard it was not seeing you for sooo long!" Hyunjin exaggerates his words, his hand slowly finding mine as we make our way downstairs.
"You managed just fineee" I roll my eyes, putting my arms through the sleeves of my coat, looking down to slip on my shoes as well. "We talked like everyday Hyunie."
"It was rough!" Hyunjin pokes my shoulder in annoyance, before clinging to me again, "Promise you'll let me see you next time you get sick?? I don't know if I can handle seungmin withdrawals like that again."
When I finally look back at the older and see his puppy dog eyes, I wanted to fold at his cuteness. But his words stung as well, knowing that I couldn't fulfill such a promise.
I would always be hiding something from him.
"Mhm."
The walk to school was full of Hyunjin explaining all the details I'd missed over the past couple of weeks, even though we talked on the phone almost everyday.
He held my hand the whole way, no part of him questioning my absence or having any anger over it. He just acted like it was nothing, and that he was just filling me in on some weekend drama.
Hyunjin didn't make me feel pathetic, even if I thought he was going to unintentionally.
I listened intently at every word he had to say, thankful to finally be able to walk next to him to school, rather than only hearing his voice.
Even just seeing his permanently loose tie and slightly unbuttoned uniform put a smile on my face. His hair and his handsome face, his goofy personality that seemed so cute and strong at the same time. Everything about Hyunjin put a smile on my face.
