Chapter 39

It was one of those unserious days of practice for the eight boys. A camera crew had come in to record the work they were putting in for their upcoming comeback. Although it started off serious, the boys slowly started to mess around due to their exhaustion.

Laughter filled the room as the staff fondly watched the members joke with one another. The environment helped the boys feel at ease, allowing them to escape the overwhelming stress that had been eating at them as of late.

Jeongin stood still, a string of laughter falling from his lips, as Seungmin used the younger boy as a shield. Jisung tried to maneuver past the boy as he attempted to get to their friend. However, he gave up and decided to try and kiss the younger member instead. Jeongin's face immediately scrunched up in disgust before lightly pushing Jisung away.

Their fits of laughter mixed with Jisung's whine, the boy complaining about how no one would kiss him. His attention turned to the camera crew shortly after, before pointing at the cameras directed at him. The staff members' expressions twisted with confusion, causing the other members to laugh even louder.

"No, no, not you guys." Jisung waved his hand dismissively. "I was pointing at Stay."

The boy started to approach one of the cameras before cupping the air, pretending that his fans were in front of him. He turned to the other members and started to shout about how Stay wanted his kisses, causing the boys to break into a fit of laughter.

"Yah, go away! I'm Stay's husband."

Chan started to jokingly march his way over to the boy, who was puckering his lips and drawing himself closer to the camera for an imaginary kiss. Their leader's lips couldn't stop from pulling into a smile, despite how angry and intimidating he was trying to appear. He pushed Jisung aside before leaning down and cupping the air.

"Are you okay? Don't worry, your husband is here to protect you," he boasted, smiling cutely at the camera.

Chan withdrew himself seconds later to pat the imaginary fan on the head. His nose scrunched up seconds later as he cringed at himself, an awkward laugh immediately falling from his lips. He immediately threw his hands over his face, too embarrassed to look at the camera again.

"Wow~, so cool," Changbin drawled out sarcastically as he rolled his eyes at the older member.

"I think I just fell in love with you, Chan." Felix placed his hand over his chest before falling to his knees for dramatic effect, eyes closing with the action.

Hyunjin immediately shifted his attention to the Australian boy who had fallen to the ground, giving him a look of disgust. Jeongin pointed it out, drawing the attention of some other members. A fit of laughter fell from their lips, causing Hyunjin to breathe out a single laugh as he hid his smile behind his hand. Chan turned around and started laughing with them, giving the camera full view of Felix's dramatic acting.

"Why won't anyone love me?!" Jisung cried out as he dramatically fell to the floor as well , face scrunching up as he pretended to cry.

"Hyung, hyung, it's okay." Seungmin approached the older boy, patting his back consolingly. "You're just unlovable."

This caused Jisung's incoherent sobbing to reach a screeching halt as he looked at the younger boy, who was grinning at his own comment. He stared at his friend in disbelief before pushing the boy away from him. Seungmin broke out laughing as Jisung failed to hold back the smile breaking loose. The room filled with more laughter before more chaos ensued amongst the eight boys.

The eight boys bowed to the camera crew as they left the practice room. Some of them fell to the ground or onto the sofa in exhaustion, while others stood in their spot, watching in amusement. Their attention would shift back towards the door when they heard it click open, thinking it was one of the staff members that forgot something.
