The present day
Wednesday's pov
"DAMMIT ADDAMS GIVE ME SOMETHING GOOD" my boss exclaims.
I've been given a project where I need to research something interesting. Not bragging about anything but I believe my works, reports, and novels are a masterpiece. It just so happens that my boss is very hard to please. I even question myself sometimes on why I settled for this asshole.
"Go to that fucking ruins if you don't want to lose your job!" He threatens.
"I'm not an archeologist to risk my life out there sir." I say respectfully though I already know he'll pop his head off out of anger.
"I don't want to provide men to come with you. It's a waste of my money. It's not even a haunted place, Addams. So take this as your redemption to prevent firing you. Give me a good fucking paper" he sighs and leaves the room.
I sigh and went to the cafeteria to have lunch with my friends.
"Hey Wens"
"Hi, Yoko" I say in a gloomy tone.
"Woah hey you look like shit. Is boss giving you a hard time ?" Yoko asks.
"Kind of. He wants me to go to a fuckin ruin for his damn paper" I rant.
"Ruins of the royal castle that collapse centuries ago ?" Yoko says looking concern on my well being.
"Wait... Castle ?". My eyes widen.
"Yeah. Some say that a werewolf died there centuries ago during her wedding" yoko says with hand gestures. She's expressing herself like she's telling a story to a child. "You don't look scared" Yoko added.
"Why would I be scared ? It's like I have a choice anyways." I sigh deeply.
"He treated you like a damn archeologist, maybe his impressed with your work after all, Wens." Yoko laughs.
"Impress my ass. He just wants me to be his bait. I don't know why he is obsessed with these werewolves anyways. It's beyond my resume" I say with an irritated tone.
"Have you tried convincing him to hire a archeologist instead ?" Yoko suggests.
"He threatened me "Get the job done or else I'll fire you, Addams"" mimicking my boss's voice.
Yoko laughs holding her stomach while wiping a fake tear on her eyelids.
"Better get going before I get fired" I say walking out of the cafeteria.
"Goodluck Wens! Take it as a special treatment from our beloved boss" Yoko shouts.
I flip her off with a middle finger while I smirk. I heard her laugh behind me before going out.
____________
"Is this the place ? Hm. Creepy." I say with a straight face.
As I step inside the castle, a cold breeze welcomes me by the door. I coughed with all the dirt that went to my face. I turn my flashlight on as I explore the place. A wooden door caught my eye and I walk slowly towards the door.
As I open the door, I see a portrait of a beautiful girl. Her face is so majestic and mesmerizing. Her blue eyes shine bright when the sun hits the window of the castle. She has this beautiful short wavy brunette hair. Her dress was like Cinderella's but a burgundy slash maroon version of it. I stare at the painting for minutes admiring this beautiful young lady, assuming she was the princess in Yoko's story. As I stare at this masterpiece I suddenly feel an urge to touch the portrait. As I touch it with the tip of my fingers, a voice echoes to my ears. Save me from agony. Finish my painting. I still hear some words but they were turning into a mumble and fades. Suddenly, my head hurts and I see a vision of a girl crying while holding onto her painting. I gasp and break my contact on the painting
I try to pull the painting out of the wall but it won't budge. My eyes widened when I saw a set of painting tools lying around the floor. It was dusty so I blew off the dirt out of the tools. How convenient it is that I'm a good painter too (I still hate you, boss). I didn't choose that path of career though. "I'll try to finish your work lady" I mumble. I went out of the castle to get some water from the lake at the back of the ruins to melt the solid paint that was left in that room.
____________
I went inside again. Suddenly, a thunder roars loudly outside the castle. I flinched but I focused on finishing this girl's painting. If Yoko's story was correct then I must say that I pity this girl. She was so full of light. Well I don't know that though. I just hope this gives her the peace that she needs. Maybe I'm losing it. Fuck it I'll finish this for her.
As I stroke the finishing touches of the painting. A strong wind hits the door open, hitting me and tossing me to the wall. I grunt on the uncomfortable feeling from my back. When I stand slowly a girl is standing right in front of me. I shout at the top of my lungs. I saw the girl's face. She's literally the girl from the painting. Brunette. Bright blue eyes. Light skin. She's wearing a white dress. And.... Dead!
"Hello my love. I've been waiting for you. For centuries now" she says with the brightest smile.
My eyes widen and I seem to forget to scream cause I'm in the middle of wanting to run away and admiring her beautiful face at the same time. But.. OF COURSE I'LL RUN SHE'S FUCKING DEAD.
I ran out of the castle while panting. I'm so terrified of what I've witnessed just now. I didn't notice that I was running in the opposite direction of the exit leading to a dead end of this castle, I slip and fell from the different side of the ruin and I got impaled of a sharp wood assuming it was from the door that was destroyed centuries ago. I gasp and I wasn't able to scream. Blood started to escape from my body. While holding on for my life and forcing myself to breathe normally, a figure appears to the corner of my eye. It's the girl from the painting. There's a worry in her bright blue eyes but not that concerned. Maybe she wants me dead for finishing her painting.

Enid's pov
My mate passed out cause of too much pain she felt getting impaled. I kneel down to admire her first and explore her face with my fingers. I caress her sweating face. She has smooth long brunette hair just like me except mine is short. She has beautiful plump lips. Darkened eyelids. Fair skin. I was kinda hurt that she's scared of me but she has every reason to be. "But don't worry, my love. You'll learn to love me soon." I smile. Enough admiring, Enid. Save her....
"Don't worry, I'll take the pain away. Please take care of this bead, my love". I wonder why I was given a bead. I'm not even a mythical fox. Ancestor things maybe... But I'm glad I was given this gift to save my mate in exchange risking my own life. I reached for the wooden object that was stuck to her stomach as I lean to lightly kiss the girl lying on a brink of death, while a blue light glows from my mouth half of it stayed in my body and the other went in my lover's body. I close my eyes for a while because it gave me a slight pain in my chest maybe because I lost half of my life. But it will be worth it.
She's not pale anymore. I'm so excited to meet her. I rub her chest lightly trying to feel my bead inside. I smile not because my life's at stake but because there's a part of me that's inside her. I apologize to her mentally for being too fast. I don't remember anything from the past all I remembered was that I curse my spirit to live within that painting until my lover will come and save me.
"I'm so happy you finally came"
