Enid's POV

"Welcome to the Trevi Fountain!" Bianca declared with a grand gesture, her voice carrying a sense of importance. "This fountain is famous for making wishes, 1 coin for returning to Rome, 2 coins to return and fall in love, and 3 to return, fall in love, and marry." She finished with a knowing smile.

I smiled back. "Well, we’re already in love and married, so I guess just 1 coin then." I reached into my pocket, ready to toss the coin, but noticed Wednesday standing motionless beside me, her usual sharpness softened.

Bianca, sensing the shift, gave us a polite nod before slipping away, leaving us to share the moment in private.

"Willa… aren’t you going to toss a coin?" I asked, playfully nudging her, but her deep, soft gaze caught me off guard. It was filled with vulnerability that made my heart skip a beat.

"I want you to return here with me," Wednesday said, her voice quiet but unwavering. "I don’t believe in these superstitions, but I desire for you to live… to have a third chance in life,,, to be with me. Because even though I know what fate awaits us, I’ll be here… waiting for you, hoping for your return."

Her words sank into me, a painful reminder of the looming two months we had left. I swallowed hard, trying to stay strong. "You know my fate is inevitable, Willa," I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper.

Wednesday tightened her hold on my hand, her expression unchanging. "Maybe a wish from this coin can be stronger than your fate. Toss the coin, cara mia."

I hesitated, feeling the weight of her hope and the depth of her love. With trembling fingers, I turned to the fountain, clutching the coin tightly. I made the only wish that mattered, the wish that we could have more time, more moments like this. Then, with a deep breath, I tossed the coin into the water, watching it disappear beneath the ripples.

The silence that followed was heavy but filled with a shared understanding, an unspoken promise that no matter what happens, our love would transcend time, even in the face of fate.

...

We walked over to where Bianca stood waiting, her arms casually crossed as she watched us approach.

"So, you made your wish?" Bianca asked with a raised eyebrow, her usual air of curiosity evident.

"Yup, all done." I nodded, still holding Wednesday’s hand. "Did you make a wish?" I asked with a playful smile.

Bianca chuckled. "Well, this is my second time here, but I’m not quite ready to toss 2 or 3 coins yet." Her smile was teasing, but there was a glint of something more behind her eyes.

I couldn’t help but smirk. "Still holding out, huh?"

She shrugged, her posture relaxing. "I’ll wait for the right moment." Bianca quickly shifted the mood, though, as she clapped her hands together. "Anyways, are you two ready for your next destination? Or do you need a few more minutes to bask in this fountain’s magic?"

Wednesday shot her a dry look but said nothing, while I squeezed her hand gently and nodded toward Bianca. "We’re ready."

...

Bianca led us toward the towering structure of Castel Sant'Angelo, its ancient stone walls glowing in the golden light of the setting sun. The Tiber River shimmered nearby, reflecting the imposing fortress. There was something enchanting about the place, its history adding a weight to the air that made it feel as if time itself had paused.

"This," Bianca said, gesturing dramatically toward the castle, "is one of the most romantic and historic spots in Rome. Perfect for you two lovebirds." She smirked as we approached the entrance. "I’ll give you some time to explore, then I’ll grab us a table for dinner."
