Yoongi stayed by Jimin's side the whole time, he didn't even bother fixing something for himself to eat. He only ate breakfast that consisted of noodles.
It was evening now, even if his body was hungry he ignored his own needs and instead focused on Jimin's well being for now. He kept on checking Jimin's temperature in between, keeping a cool damp cloth on his forehead to cool down the temperature.Jimin starts to stir in his sleep, suddenly feeling uncomfortable and Yoongi quickly becomes aware of the situation.
“ What happened, Jimin? Are you okay ?”
His soft tone was laced with worry.
Jimin doesn't answer his question and instead tries to sit up first, so Yoongi helps him.“ Wa-”
Jimin doesn't need to finish the sentence as Yoongi is already getting it for him.“ Do you need anything else?”
Jimin shook his head to that, gulping the water in one go quenching his dried throat. His fever was better now but his head still felt heavy.“ Should I prepare you some food?”
Jimin again shook his head at that, he had no wish of eating anything. Half of it is because of the fever and the other half is because of his worries.“ Should I help you lay down?”
Jimin shook his head.So they both became silent, the sun was about to set giving the sky that different hues. The lights weren't switched on, so the room was lit by the orange sunset color instead.
Yoongi wants to know what's going on in Jimin's head. He wants Jimin to talk to him, knowing that's the only way to relieve the stress on Jimin's shoulder.
And for that he has to tell him about his burden first.
So, with a sigh, Yoongi starts narrating the story of his childhood. The story which he hasn't told anyone yet, Jimin would be the first one to hear it so he's a bit nervous.“ My parents used to fight a lot. All my early childhood memories are filled with them fighting.”
Jimin looks at Yoongi, a little shocked as he wasn't expecting Yoongi to say something like this right now. The last time he asked Yoongi about it, he tried to change the topic so Jimin didn't pry on it. So, he can't help but wonder what changed in these past few days that made Yoongi want to tell him about his family.
Yoongi closes his eyes and starts to relive those moments again.
He had never seen his parents being happy in each other's presence, all they ever did was scream and shout at each other. It was so bad that he preferred to be closed up in his room all day than to be with them.
His mother didn't particularly like him, and he knew about it. Her actions gave it away. She never treated him how a mother should treat her child, he was often ignored and mistreated by her. Yoongi had deduced the reason behind it being his resemblance to his father. His mother hated his father so much that she started to hate her own son too.
On the other hand his father was a bit decent. He wasn't home most of the time, but when he was, he'd come to Yoongi's room to play with him. He'd tell him stories and try to make him laugh.
His parents' relationship started to get a little better when they announced they were gonna have another baby. Yoongi was just five at that time, but he was really happy with the news.
He was always alone in the big house so a little sibling was all he ever wished for. Plus seeing his parent's relationship getting better made him very happy. He thought finally everything would be fine and he'd have a normal family just like everyone.
He remembers how happy he was the day his little brother was born. He was so excited to go meet his brother but his father told him children weren't allowed in the hospital, so he stayed at home and made handmade cards to welcome his brother.
