26. memento mori

" Do you even know who he is?"

Yoongi looks up when he hears Jinuk say that, he knows what is coming next. Jimin was already looking at him with a confused gaze.

Yoongi breaks eye contact, he is afraid that the eyes that held so much love and care for him will turn into anger and hatred today. And Yoongi isn't sure if he would be able to bear that. He'll die if he sees Jimin look at him the same way other people look at him.

" Min Yoongi, the son of the most feared Crime Lord of Seoul, Min Wonil."
Yoongi closed his eyes as his father's name was mentioned. He knew there was no going back now, he was already exposed.

But what hurt him the most was seeing that confused and helpless look on Jimin's face. If only he was brave enough to tell Jimin the reality by himself, they wouldn't be in such a situation today.

" I should have seen through that fake act of yours. You were trying to save my son only to kill him later."
Jinuk was enraged, one thing that he hates the most is betrayal. He feels so ashamed of himself for not finding out Yoongi's truth before.
He curls up his fingers in a fist and throws a hard punch across Yoongi's face, his sharp rings striking across Yoongi's soft cheek, drawing out hot blood.

Jimin stood there frozen, with so many things going on in his head. He couldn't understand what was right and what was wrong. He wanted to hear this from Yoongi. He wanted Yoongi to say that his father was lying and he'd believe him. He'd easily believe Yoongi over his father but Yoongi never denied the accusations.
And that only made Jimin understand that his father was telling the truth, it was Yoongi who lied to him.

" I'd never hurt Jimin."
Yoongi mutters under his breath, as he sees Jimin standing there and looking at him with those eyes. As if he was a criminal.

" Yeah, and why should I trust someone like you? Someone whose hands are covered in the blood of so many people."
Jinuk punched Yoongi again, this time in the stomach and it made Yoongi fall down to his knees. He could have easily fought back, but he didn't. He was in the wrong, he knew what he did was wrong so he decided to take this as his punishment, his punishment for lying to his lover.

" You are your father's blood, the cruelty runs deep in you."
Yoongi closed his eyes as he heard those words. He has been called so many names in his life, yet the one he hates the most is when he's called his father's son. He's nothing like him, but nobody understands him.

" I was a fool to not pay attention to you, I was a fool to let your innocent act swindle me, I was a fool to let JIMIN GET CLOSE TO YOU."
He yanks Yoongi's head back and hits him hard in the jaw. Blood comes out of Yoongi's mouth at the hard impact, covering his clothes in his own blood. But it didn't hurt Yoongi even a bit. What pained him was Jimin's silence.

But he should have known that something like this would happen. Their relationship was based on lies, he had told Jimin so many lies and then asked him to trust him. What a fucking hypocrite!
He thought that the truth would never come out and he'd be able to live a beautiful life with Jimin. But the lies don't last long.

" Isn't that why you brought him here? To kill him?"
Jinuk retreats his hand back to hit Yoongi once again but this time Jimin kneeled in front of Yoongi before Jinuk could hurt him.

" Jimin..."
Jinuk said in disbelief, even after knowing all the truth Jimin still dared to side with Yoongi.

" Jimin ah."
Yoongi said in his broken voice as he saw Jimin shielding him, tears streaming down his eyes. He couldn't believe Jimin would still do something like this for him, after knowing all the truth.

" I told you, I would protect you."
Jimin said in his own broken voice as he put his hand forward to wipe Yoongi's tears. There's so much doubt and questions in his head, but one thing that he's sure of is that Yoongi never meant to harm him.
