A/N 1: buckle up y'all. This is long af lol
C/N POV:
We all finish our final piece and sit in our spots on the bleachers, silent. After a few moments, the audience starts clapping & cheering, standing from their seats and giving us a standing ovation. I glance to my right and give Y/N a reassuring smile, mouthing a 'we did it' to him. He nods excitedly, watching the audience with a wide grin of his own.
I find myself gazing at Y/N fondly for the millionth time since we both arrived today. My eyes scan over his face, his features already engraved in my memory due to how often I fantasize about & stare at him. His soft eyes, his adorable nose, his kissable lips; everything. I absolutely love everything about him.
"C/N? What're you doing?"
I blink rapidly for a moment before realizing that I was staring at Y/N, my eyes going wide as I hurriedly avert my eyes and slightly blush from embarrassment.
"Sorry about that, Y/N. I just zoned out for a bit."
"Zoned out". Totally.
"It's alright, C/N. I'm just glad you're okay."
God, this boy is too sweet for this world.
"Thank you, honey. I appreciate it."
I just called him honey. Hopefully he didn't notice. I don't want to make him uncomfortable.
"Y-you're welcome, C/N."
He stuttered. Oh my god he's adorable, I can't–
I slightly shake my head to pull myself out of my thoughts before I can end up fantasizing about Y/N in public again. My eyes dart across the sports field as I try to think of a different topic of discussion to break up the slowly building uneasiness between the two of us. I eventually notice someone going to the concession stand to grab some food, and I get an idea.
"Do you wanna grab some food from the concession stand, Y/N? I'm hungry after our performance."
Y/N's face lights up as he nods eagerly, another bright smile spreading across his face.
"Sure, let's go."
Y/N stands up and grabs my hand, pulling me up from the bleachers. We walk together to approach the concession stand, standing in the back of the line to wait our turn. I feel his hand wrapping around mine, most likely in an effort to not get lost, and my heart thrums in my chest in a progressively increasing tempo. I find myself immediately returning the gesture, giving his hand a small squeeze.
Y/N's so affectionate & loving with me. It's unfortunate that he's straight. I probably would have already made a move by now if he was into guys at all.
When Y/N & I get to the front of the line, he steps up to order our food for the both of us before I manage to speak. My heart melts at the gesture, a shy grin forming on my face in response. The worker at the counter looks at me and seems to immediately understand how I'm feeling, giving me a subtle smile & wink, mouthing a 'good luck' to me.
Before I can form a reply, the worker hands Y/N and I our food. I quickly pull my wallet out, paying for our food as a 'thank you' to Y/N for speaking for me. The worker takes the money and puts it into the box, calling for the next person in line to come forward.
Y/N and I turn away away from the counter and head toward the bleachers, our food in one hand and our other hands still gently grasping one another from earlier. I decide not to bring it up, not wanting to ruin the moment. He doesn't seem to notice anything, either, so I try to keep it subtle as we get on the bleachers and get back in our spots.
