C/N POV:

I open the door and step inside, the bell signaling my presence.

Let's get this over with.

I carefully close the door behind me, looking around at all the kids playing on the different pieces of equipment. I approach one of my coworkers, Jared, from the side, shoving my car keys into my pocket.

"What kind of indoor playground needs security gu-"

"Man, it has been way too long since I got some."

Well damn, hello to you too, Jared.

"I feel you there. I've been so pent up lately."

I look at both of my coworkers with confusion, wondering why they feel this is an appropriate conversation topic for a space for children to play in.

These two are so annoying. They're lucky this job has good pay, or else I wouldn't be here.

"Jared, Brian... Why are you two talking about this here?"

They both look at me, not seeming fazed by my question.

"We don't see each other anywhere else, so there really isn't any other time to do it."

I give them a deadpan look before rolling my eyes.

"Sure, whatever. Let's just get to work."

I adjust my sleeves to hide my forearm tattoos, wanting to give as little away as possible about my personal identity. I lightly tug on my gloves, making sure they're stable and hide my wedding ring well enough.

Good thing it's cold outside today. That way, I won't be bombarded with, 'Why are you wearing gloves?' or, 'It's hot outside! You should take the gloves off so your hands can breathe'.

"Woah, check out that cute guy."

I hear Brian practically shouting behind me, so I reluctantly turn around, only to find my coworkers gawking at my husband. Jared seems to be equally interested, his jaw dropped and his eyes wide.

Geez, these guys are idiots.

I cross my arms over my chest, trying to ignore my thirsty coworkers in favor of making sure my kids stay safe while my oblivious husband, Y/N, watches them.

"Alright, Brian. I bet you $50 (if you're in a country with different currency, you can choose a different amount of money) that you can't get him to go out with you."

Oh?

"Oh, you're so on, Jared."

"What about you, C/N? You wanna join the bet?"

I think over their suggestion before getting an idea, nodding.

"Sure, I guess. If I do, though, you both have to give me $50 (or whatever amount of money you put in) each if I get him to go out with me. Deal?"

My idiot coworkers grin to one another and nod eagerly, giving each other high fives before turning back to look at my husband from afar.

"Okay, okay, I'll go first."

Brian runs his hand through his hair, taking a breath before striding toward Y/N. He awkwardly leans his elbow against the nearby wall, propping up his head in a poor try at looking 'cool'.

"Hey, sweet thing."

Ew.

"Um... Hi there. Did you need something?"
