Ryujin's Pov:

"Mr Niki is fine but Ms Yeji lost her memory" the doctor says.

The doctor's words hit me like a punch to the gut: Yeji lost her memory. My heart sinks as I follow the doctor to Yeji's room, the harsh reality of the situation settling in.

As we enter, Yeji looks at us with confusion in her eyes. The room is stark and sterile, the beeping of machines the only sound breaking the silence. She seems disoriented, her gaze shifting between us with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

"Who are you?" she asks, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

I'm momentarily at a loss for words, the weight of the situation pressing down on me. Chan steps forward, trying to offer a reassuring presence. "Yeji, it's me, Ryujin," I say gently, my voice trembling. "We've been through a lot together."

Yeji blinks, trying to process the information. "Ryujin... I don't remember you," she admits, her tone reflecting genuine confusion.

My heart aches at her words. "It's okay," I say, forcing a calmness I don't truly feel. "You were in an accident. You've been through a lot. We're here to help you."

Yeji looks at Chan, her expression filled with the same confusion. "And him?" she asks.

"This is Chan," I explain, trying to keep my voice steady. "He's a friend who helped us. He's here to make sure you're safe."

Chan gives Yeji a reassuring nod. "We'll do everything we can to help you remember," he says gently. "But right now, the most important thing is that you're safe."

Yeji's eyes wander around the room, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. "I don't remember any of this," she says softly, her voice laced with a hint of frustration.

"It's going to be okay," I assure her, though I'm not sure how much of that is true. "We'll help you get through this. Just take it one step at a time."

As we sit by her bedside, I feel a mix of relief that she's alive and heartbreak over her lost memories. The road ahead will be long and uncertain, but for now, all I can do is be here for her and hope that, somehow, she'll find her way back to the person she once was.

Yeji suddenly bursts into laughter, and for a second, none of us know how to react. Confusion washes over me as I exchange glances with Chan, wondering if she's just disoriented.

"What's going on?" I ask, my voice shaky.

Yeji wipes a tear from the corner of her eye, still chuckling. "I was joking!" she says, her laughter settling down. "I told the doctor to say I lost my memory."

For a moment, I'm frozen, processing her words. Then it hits me, and I can't help but let out a relieved, shaky laugh, though my heart is still racing from the panic moments earlier. "Yeji, you scared me!" I say, half laughing and half scolding. "I thought you really didn't remember."

"I couldn't resist," she says with a mischievous grin, sitting up a bit more in her bed. "You should've seen your faces!"

Chan shakes his head, smiling despite himself. "That was cruel," he teases. "But I guess it's good to see you're still yourself."

Yeji's expression softens as she looks at me. "I'm sorry, Ryujin. I didn't mean to worry you."

I take a deep breath, letting the tension slip away. "As long as you're okay, that's all that matters."

Yeji smiles, the familiar spark returning to her eyes. "I'm more than okay. Thanks to you."

I smile back, the relief flooding through me. Despite everything, she's still here, still Yeji-memory intact and with her same playful, teasing nature.
