Ryujin's Pov:
For a moment, silence fills the room. My heart is pounding in my chest, every second feeling like a lifetime.
"Yeji..." I whisper one last time, desperation thick in my voice. "You have to trust me."
I watch her, waiting, hoping that whatever connection we shared will be enough to break through the web of lies and manipulation that the President has spun around her.
The tension is unbearable. Everything comes down to this moment.
Yeji lets out a dry chuckle, her voice dripping with an emotion I can't quite place. "You know, Ryujin... I love you as well," she says, her eyes never leaving mine. "And our love... it's really unevitable."
My heart skips a beat, the weight of her words almost too much to bear. But before I can say anything, she shifts her aim, the gun now trained on the President. Her voice hardens, carrying a bitter edge as she reveals the truth.
"He killed my father as well. Made it look like an accident, just like yours."
The words hang in the air, heavy and suffocating. My mind reels as I process what she's just said. The same man who orchestrated the murder of my family had done the same to hers. The same lies, the same deception, the same cold, calculated cruelty.
I look at her, and in that moment, everything shifts. We're no longer on opposite sides of this war. We've been fighting the same enemy all along.
The President's smirk falters, his once unshakable confidence starting to crack. He opens his mouth, but Yeji doesn't give him a chance to speak.
"You used me," she spits, her voice filled with venom. "All these years, you manipulated me, made me believe I was fighting for justice. But all I was doing was cleaning up after your messes. My father... he wasn't just a casualty of some random accident. You made sure of it."
The President glares at her, but for the first time since this encounter began, there's a hint of fear in his eyes. He shifts in his seat, clearly realizing that the situation is slipping out of his control.
Yeji's grip on the gun tightens, her hand steady, her resolve unshakable. "For years, I've followed orders, thinking I was on the right side of the law. But I was blind. You were using me to clean up your dirty work, to silence people like Ryujin's father-like my father."
I glance between Yeji and the President, my heart pounding in my chest. This moment-this revelation-it changes everything.
The President's voice is cold as he sneers, "You're both fools. Love isn't going to save you. You think you can just kill me and walk away? There are more people in play than you can ever imagine. Killing me won't fix anything."
Yeji shakes her head, her eyes narrowing. "No, but it will end you. And that's a start."
She looks at me again, the weight of everything we've both lost reflected in her gaze. The betrayal, the years of pain, the blood on our hands. But beneath it all, there's an unspoken understanding.
"We end this together," she says softly.
Without another word, we turn our focus back to the man who took everything from us.
Yeji slowly lowers her gun, her hand trembling slightly as she makes a choice. Without warning, she steps forward and punches the President square in the face.
"This is for my father," she growls, her voice trembling with years of repressed anger and grief. The President stumbles back in his chair, blood dripping from his lip, but Yeji doesn’t give him time to recover.
