Stohess (Part 2)

We walked out of the alley way, meeting up with Eren and Mikasa. And started heading for the underground tunnel.

"That was easier than I thought it would be." Eren whispered to me and Mikasa. Annie was walking with Armin in front of us as we walked behind them. Mikasa shushed him, but Eren continued.

"That's the Military Police for you. You can see how hard they work every day. Let's just hope they won't find out that Jean's taken my place. That won't last long, though we don't even look alike at all."

"It's fine. Both of you look like criminals, with the same nasty look in your eyes." Armin said, turning his head back towards us as we continued.

"I don't have a horse face like him."

"Yeah... but you look like a goblin-"

"Hey, if I hadn't helped you, how did you plan on getting over the walls?" Annie interrupted me as she also looked back towards us.

"I was going to use my odm gear to get over." Armin said as they both turned back to face forward.

"That's insane. Wouldn't it be easier to escape before you reached Stohess? Why here? And why now?" 

"I felt that the complicated layout of the city would give us a better chance at swapping Eren and Jean. And I thought pretending to go along with it, rather than an out right opposition, would prevent suspicion and buy our escape more time." Good explanation, Armin. But not good enough.

"I see. I get it."

"There." Armin said jogging towards the entrance of the tunnel.

"Here?" 

"Yeah, we go through here." Armin said as we walked forward.

"The remains of an underground city they abandoned are still down here." Armin said as we all walked towards the tunnel, getting closer and closer until Annie stopped suddenly as we walked down the stairs.

"Annie, what's wrong? Your not afraid of dark or cramp places are you?" Eren asked as we looked up towards Annie, who held her arm in her hand.

"Yes, I am. You wouldn't know how a weak girl like me feels."

"A girl who can spin a man around in mid-air isn't weak. Stop being and idiot and hurry up." Eren said as we turned around, continuing to walk down the stairs. But Annie didn't follow. 

"No. I won't go that way. It scares me. If we aren't going above ground, I won't help." Annie answered Eren as we turned back to face her, again.

"What are you saying! Get down here! Stop screwing around!" Eren yelled at her as she looked down.

"Eren, don't shout."

"It isn't a problem, is it, Mikasa? For some reason, there hasn't been anyone near by for a while. Jeez. I'm hurt. When did you start looking at me that way?" Annie asked as she looked down on us. Hiding her emotions well.

"Annie, why did you have Marco's odm gear? I remember even its tiniest scratches and marks, because we repaired them together. That's why I recognized them." Armin said as Annie looked down. Knowing she was caught.
