Autumns pov
I wasn't aloud to stay for much longer, only until Charlottes bandage had been changed and the doctor ran through the tests they needed to do. It turns out they need to do an MRI scan. This would all be done tomorrow so I can be with Charlotte when all the tests are done.
I couldn't sleep all night.
I couldn't help but think about how scared Charlotte must be. Alone in hospital, she didn't know what was happening.
I must have eventually fallen asleep as I woke up on the sofa. I checked the time and saw it was 6 am.
I get ready and head to the hospital.
When I get there they let me go straight to Charlottes room.
When I open the door I see her lying there, with two doctors either side of her. They were talking to her, but she didn't look like she knew what they were saying.
I heard they were saying something about tests and scans.
When they left I went over and sat with Charlotte.
She looked a bit better today, not as confused.
"Hi Charlotte," I say
"Hi," she pauses, "autumn"
Her responses were quite slow.
"Did they tell you about the tests?" I ask
"Yeah, I have an MRI scan in about 3 hours. Then I think I'm getting stitches at about 3pm." Charlotte says.
"Okay well I can be here whenever you want me here," I say. I can't imagine how scary this must be for her.
"Thanks Autumn I appreciate" She says
"It's okay, how are you though?" I ask
"Um. I don't really know." Charlotte says.
"It's okay not to be okay Charlotte, It's okay to be scared, I'm here for you" I say, she looks like her eyes are filling with tears
"I'm going to go ring Marjorie, I'll take the day off and stay here with you." I say
"No it's okay I'm fine here" Charlotte says
"I don't want to leave you alone all day though"
"I'll be okay, I don't want to make you stay off of work for me" Charlotte says
"Well how about I go to work but if you need me at all, even if your lonely, scared or just need to talk, please ask the hospital to ring me" I reason, I know she won't let me take the whole day off work so I compromise.
"Okay I will." Char says
"Okay I'll see you later then" I say.
"Bye Autumn"
I really didn't want to leave Charlotte but I just wanted to agree with her. She doesn't need any stress right now.
