She looked so peaceful

Marjorie's pov

I got a message from autumn asking me to bring some stuff to the hospital for Charlotte, so I decide to go round after work on my way to the hospital.

I've only been to Charlottes house a few times in the past, it's always tidy and neat, nothing ever seems out of place, however when I went today it was different. I find myself looking around her house. I head to the kitchen. There's a shiver in the air.
I look in the fridge, it's practically empty, same with the cupboards.
I walk into the living room. The silence was deafening. It felt abandoned like no one had lived here for years. It's only been a couple of days.
I walk upstairs to her bedroom to get her pyjamas and the picture frame.
The bed wasn't made, with mascara marks on the pillows. I sat on the end of the bed and looked around.
I get Charlotte some pairs of pyjamas and the picture frame of her daughters.
I decide to leave, I couldn't spend another minute in there, it didn't feel like Charlottes home.

On the drive to the hospital I can't help but think about Charlottes house. Although the house wasn't messy at all, it still just felt odd.

I arrive at the hospital and head towards Charlottes room.

I knock on the door and Autumn answers it.

As I walk in I see Charlotte on the bed asleep, she looks so peaceful. Her eyes are shut softly. And her chest rises and falls softly.

"She should be waking up any time soon, the anaesthetic should be warring off" Autumn says
About 5 minutes later Charlotte begins to wake up
"Oh hi Marjorie" she says
"Hello my love how are you doing?" I ask
"Good thanks" she says
"How's the stitches?"
"Oh if I'm being honest I didn't realise I had them, thinking now it doesn't hurt just feels a little bit tight." She says

I stay for around an hour and a half, just talking with Charlotte and Autumn.
I can tell Charlottes tired so i decide to leave.
I give Charlotte the stuff I brought and leave.
