Again. Was the same scenario repeating again. It had the smell of it, and Marco had experienced it several times already in the past, he knew it wasn't good. Five hours ago before that new disaster Papa Kloppo had suggested his player to not take part in the upcoming game against Paderborn, as Marco had sob about his tiredness and lack of sleep to the team doctor, every details weren't forgotten to be added in the player record before every match, and based on the data the coach had the final decision. But Marco being too loyal to his team, didn't want to skip an occasion to help his friends, and mostly to have a ball at his feet.
Throughout the game, he has made too much of fouls, and his mind wasn't really much focussed on the pitch. Everyone had witness how he was struggling to keep his mind aimed at the ball, and the diffuculty at running, as if his legs were out of strength, force and energy, well the whole of his body was lagging. So, could this painful ankle injury could had been avoided if he had been fully alert. Or was it bad luck playing again on Marco. As his ankle got violently tackled, Marco knew already it must have been something of bad, because of the violent painful region of the muscle, that scenario had that taste of déjA vu.
* * * *
"Fucking injury, fucking pain, fucking life, fuck everything." Marco mumbled in anger. At the moment he got knocked down, he never ceased to blame himself for that new injury. "If I hadn't my mind elsewhere, thinking on her, perhaps it wouldn't have occurred." He constantly told himself while he had been examined by the physiotherapist. It's been five days that he stayed in the unknown on Brooke, wondering every seconds where was she. Every time he was pressing the redial touch of his phone, the concern did rose a little bit more when this stupid female computerized voice repeated the number couldn't be reached out. His nights turned sleepless, she was torturing Marco's mind. Everyday he had called Sophia, Brooke's mom, and her friends, in a burdensome quest to find her, but none of had a clue, not a trace, as if she never existed.
Most of the players had left the locker changing room to head off at the team bus, only three were still around, Nuri, Auba and Marco, verifying if they hadn't left any personal effects on the bench, or in the disposed lockers.
"Hey Frérot, you'll kick that injury butthole, will you.?" Auba patted in a friendly gesture Marco's shoulder. Marco who had been on the verge of tears all along his ankle check, and broke down in hot tears. Oh yes, Auba and others has been the spectator those bitter tears streaming down his face. Marco was a sensible man, and as every normal human beings, he needed to express him through his cries, he wasn't ashamed of that aspect.
"Yeah..." Marco hardly pronounced, his shaky voice covered with his own sobbings. Yes, Marco was still submerged with distress engendered by the injury, this reminded him the nightmare he had experienced the day before the departure to Brazil, the night his dream had been destroyedl. But above all that, he was in the need to speak to her, he needed to hear her comforting voice and that everything would be alright. No one else could cheer him better tban Brooke, she was the only one who could understand him perfectly, and what was he was going through. Only that girl had the ability to sooth off Marco's pain.
"Marco, Always keep your head up bro, and look forward to the better days that will come ahead, you've gone through it, and you'll come back stronger than you were yesterday... Don't give up." Nuri spoke a wisdom speech, but Marco wasn't that much attentive. He grabbed a tissue paper out from his black Louis Vuitton travel bag and swiped the tears of of his eyes.
"All I need and want is her, and she's not even there for me, I need her so badly, she just dissapeared, I don't understand anything anymore." Marco shook his head.
