Chapter: 8
"Where were you at nine thirty?" The investigator asked."I was dancing with Jordan," I answered.
"Where was the last time you saw Melina?"
"She was dancing, I told you!" I replied.
"Do you know if she has a boyfriend?"
"No, she never told me anything about that."
"Does she have enemies, anyone that may want to cause her harm?"
"No, she is really popular at school! She is loved, and no one would hurt her!"
"Tell me about the guy that was seen with her."
"I don't know, I didn't see him, but I asked around and they said that he has a neck tattoo, a lip piercing, black hair, and definitely not 16."
"He isn't in your school?"
"No," I shook my head.
"Your friend informed us that her car was two blocks away from the party."
"Yes," I nodded, "and we searched through it, and asked the residents, one of them said that he saw her walking with him, and that's it!"
The man nodded his head, "thank you for cooperating with us Ms. Brian, we will make sure to contact you if there was any progress, and there's no need to worry, she will be back."
I smiled, "thanks, and if you need any more answers or anything, just call me!"
"Will do, have a nice day," he said.
"You too," and by that, I walked towards the exit of the police station.
I walked out side and the sun hit me in the eye, I shielded the light by my hand and sighed, looking a head of me.
"Ally!" I heard a shout, and looked at the source.
Melina's mom ran out of a black jeep, she had the same black eyes and hair as Melina. She pulled me into a hug, sobbing and crying. I felt my eyes water as I hugged her back.
"I'm sorry I lied! I'm sorry!" I couldn't help it but burst into tears.
We cried on each other's shoulders for what seemed like hours.
Her dad stood behind us, so I broke the hug and looked at him... Even with my clouded sight, I could see his puffed nose and the blood shots in his eyes.
So after we gave up yesterday, we told the police this morning, and they called Melina's parents, and investigated by asking us, along with Naomi and Jordan, also a few of the school's kids, questions.
And I was the last one to get interrogated.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Melina's mother asked, sobbing and sniffling.
I wiped away a tear, "I didn't want you to get worried, or blame us. And I didn't want anything to happen to you two... I thought that we might search, and find her, but it was harder than we thought."
"Did you give all the information you know to the police?" Melina's father asked.
"Yeah, and we will stay in contact," I nodded. "They will find her!"
They both nodded their heads with hope in their eyes, thanked me, and went inside the police station.
I sighed, and started walking towards my house -which was 10 minutes far from here- so I took out my earphones, and loud music burst through them, keeping me from thinking anything negative.
