Chapter: 25
"Are you okay?" Dylan whispered, and I nodded.

"Are you sure?" He asked, I nodded again.

"Ally, he's never going to touch you again." I nodded. "I'm here with you," he grabbed my hand, and I breathed in, a sudden feeling invading me.

We were sitting on two chairs, looking at the wall in front of us, the light in the room burning my eyes. After Ryder's attack, the police got him, and took us to the police station to ask a few questions. The investigator left the room a few minutes ago, and Dylan and I stayed alone.
My heart was beating fast, and I honestly didn't know why!

"Okay," a voice said, and then the investigator stood in front of us, "Ryder Woods will be sent to a juvenile, since he's a minor. Don't worry, you won't see him for a long time." I sighed in relief, and Dylan squeezed my hand in a comforting way. The man continued, "you're free to go, take care of yourselves."

I stood up, "thank you!" And he nodded. A minute later, we were out of the station, and the cold engulfed us.

I sighed, looking at the dark sky, the moon almost full. "What a night," I said.

"Yeah," he nodded, walking me to the car, his hand still holding mine. I leaned closer to him, and he wrapped his arm around me.

"Thank you," I closed my eyes.

"For what?"

"For everything."

"I'll never let anything happen to you!" He hugged me, before opening the car door. I got in the passenger's seat -finally!- and the warmth welcomed me. I've always loved Dylan's car, it usually has his scent, which is a beautiful cologne.

"Dylan," I called.

"Hm?" He looked at me for a second, before focusing on the road.

"I never asked about your dad, what happened?"

"He traveled when I told you," he shrugged.

"Doesn't he call?"

"Sometimes."

"Don't you miss him?"

He tensed a bit, "I don't know. I'm just happy that my house is fights free, I can't handle seeing my mom getting hurt anymore."

I looked at him for what seemed like a really long time, then smiled.

"Why are you smiling?" He glanced at me.

"You have a huge heart, you know that?"

He smiled, "nah."

"You're amazing, I am such a lucky person to have you."

"I know, I'm great," he winked at me, making me chuckle. "You're my best friend, and I love you so much. Do you know that I've never lied to you?"

"Seriously?" I asked, surprised.

"Yeah! I swear, not even one lie! I just feel comfortable enough to not try hiding anything from you, you know everything about me!"

I grinned, "I'm so lucky."

He looked at me for a second, then smiled. "I am lucky too, because I have someone by my side like you."

I looked at the road ahead, with a stupid smile on my face. "Hey, I've never asked how you came to my house!"

"I heard shouts and screams."

"Oh," I said.

We reached my house, and he hugged me. "If you need me, just send a text."
