Chapter: 10
"Where is she?" I asked, tears willing to drop. I was followed by Dylan, Austin, Destiny, and Melina's parents, into the police station."Guys!" I heard the familiar voice of my best friend.
I turned to see her, with tears rolling down her face like a river. She ran towards Dylan hugging him tightly.
Then she turned to me, and also embraced me. I couldn't help it, tears escaped my eyes.
We spent a few minutes just hugging each other and crying. She hugged the others too, her mother couldn't stop the sobs.
"I missed you!" I whispered, pulling her back to me, again.
"I miss you too," she said.
"Don't ever disappear again! Alright?" I exclaimed. "You made me scared shitless!"
She chuckled, wiping away her black tears caused by mascara. She looked at Dylan, who gave her a soft smile.
I looked at Destiny and Austin with a grin, but they had confused looks.
"How are you feeling, honey?" Melina's father asked.
"I'm really good!" She replied.
"Did you see who the kidnapper was?" Her mother asked.
As if on cue, two police officers entered the station, with their hand around a guy who was trying to break loose from their grip.
"Let me go!" He raised his head glaring at one of the officers, my heart skipped a beat. "I didn't do anything!" He exclaimed, squirting between his hands.
As if he felt my gaze, Ryder looked at me. The eye contact brought something back, a memory flashed in front of me making my heart tremble, if that was even possible.
He hung his head low, a pained expression on his face. They continued walking until they disappeared behind a door, after him looking at me again.
I turned my head looking at the ground, suddenly feeling sad.
"Let's go home, your mother must be worried," Dylan said softly, rubbing my arm gently.
I nodded, walking towards the exit... I felt gazes on my back. One was piercing through me, but I couldn't recognize who was the source of that death glare.
I went back home with Destiny. Melina went back to her parents, and the boys had a soccer practice from 7:30, to 10:30 AM.
"Ally," Destiny whispered, snatching me out of my thoughts.
"Hm?" I looked at her. She had a worried expression.
"Don't force yourself to remember!"
My eyes widened.
"Yeah, I read minds," she grinned cheekily.
A smile crept on my face, "why did you travel to Washington? I can't remember well."
She gave me a sad smile, "because my dad had some work there, but I knew you needed me with you so I came back."
I nodded, "thanks."
"What for?" She raised her eyebrow, with a smile on her face, dimples piercing her cheeks.
"Because you're with me," I trailed off, sighing. "Because you didn't give up. I can never thank you, Austin, and Dylan enough. You two have been with me through thick and thin... You were there when my world was crashing down, when I thought I didn't have anything else to live for. Thank you for making me feel better again!"
