Kendra widened her eyes and looked at the man with fuming anger. In a stern yet angry voice, she said,

"Leave her... this is between you and me."

But as she spoke, he walked towards Ada and grabbed her chin harshly. Kendra clenched her jaw in anger.

"If you want your dear friend back, then give me your phone..." he said with a sneer. Kendra closed her eyes to control herself and replied, "I'll give it to you. First, let her go."

The man laughed and released Ada's chin, setting her free. Kendra looked at Ada and signaled her to come towards her with her eyes. But before Ada could take a step, the man pointed a gun at her stomach, stopping her in her tracks. He then turned to Kendra, who was glaring at him.

"First, give me your phone, Kendra!" he demanded with an evil smile.

Kendra glanced between Ada and the man before slowly handing her phone to the man who had been talking to that boy earlier.

"Did you delete it?" X asked the man, still pointing the gun at Ada's stomach.

"Yes, boss," the man replied.

Kendra clenched her jaw and said, "Now let her go."

With a chuckle, X released Ada, and the man handed the phone back to Kendra. As soon as Ada reached her side, Kendra quickly pulled out her gun from behind her back and pointed it at X with a smirk.

X looked at her with a smirk of his own and said in a dark voice, "Put your gun down, or I'll make sure something happens to you and your friend, Kendra."

Kendra laughed and responded, "What if I don't, Mr. X?"

She fired a shot at the wall just behind him. X flinched at the sudden shot, glaring at Kendra, who was smiling smugly. He clenched his jaw and said, "You're playing with fire."

Kendra chuckled. "You know, I like playing with fire... It's so interesting."

X chuckled back at her response and then threw a sharp object at her head, causing her to drop her gun. He smirked as blood trickled down from her forehead. Kendra glared at him, ready to charge, but before she could, he threw a smoke grenade at her. The smoke filled the room, causing Kendra and Ada to cough and lose their vision.

"Kendra, I can't see anything!" Ada said, panicking. Kendra tried to clear her vision, but it was no use.

"I can't breathe anymore," Ada gasped, holding Kendra's hand tightly. Kendra tightened her grip and quickly led Ada out of the area, making their way to their car. Ada was coughing hard as Kendra helped her into the seat and handed her some water.

"Are you okay now?" Kendra asked. Ada nodded, but when she looked at Kendra and saw the blood on her head, her eyes widened in concern.

"Ken... Your... Your forehead!" Ada stammered.

Kendra frowned, touching her forehead and looking at the blood on her hand. She sighed, took a tissue from the box, and pressed it against the wound. "It's okay. It's just a small one."

But Ada wasn't convinced. She grabbed Kendra's hand and insisted, "You're not fine! Look, you're losing too much blood, Ken. We need to go to the hospital, and that's final."

Without giving Kendra a chance to argue, Ada got into the driver's seat and drove straight to the hospital.

At the hospital, Ada anxiously asked the doctor, "How is she?"

"Ms. Walker is fine, but she lost some blood and is currently resting. The wound was a little deep, so she received five stitches," the doctor explained.
