Dark Promises

CHAPTER 5

Henry's POV

When I came inside, I saw Ken talking to two people in the waiting area. I smiled and went towards her, calling her name. As soon as she saw me, she smiled and hugged me. I hugged her back, but I could sense that someone was glaring at us. When I looked at that man, I saw him staring at me. He scoffed at us. I looked at him with one eyebrow raised.

"Who is he, Ms. Kendra?" Ken looked at him with cold eyes and said, "It's none of your business, Mr. Zayn."

Oh... So he is the one. But suddenly, he came towards Ken and said something in her ear. I clenched my jaw in anger. He was so close to her, and she was not comfortable.

"Maintain some distance, Mr. Collin," I said while glaring at him. He chuckled and came towards me and said, "What if I don't? This is my office; I can do whatever I want. And who are you, Mr.?"

He was crossing the line. I made a fist in anger and said while controlling myself, "It is not your business to know who I am to her!"

He chuckled and said, "Of course it is my business, Mr. She is my employee who works under me," he said while looking at Ken. She scoffed at his sentence. Then he continued, "I need to ensure my employees' safety." 

I chuckled at him and said while moving closer to his ear, "I'm her boyfriend." I backed off with a smirk and said to Ken, 

"Can we leave?" She nodded with a confused face.

Kendra's POV

What the heck is happening here? What did Henry tell Zayn? Ughhh...

When Henry said, "Can we leave?" I nodded and looked at Zayn, who was glaring at me. His glare was like he would kill me just with his eyes. I looked at him confusedly. Henry then held my wrist, and we left.

In the Car

While Henry was driving, I was looking out the window, thinking about Zayn. When he came so close to me, I don't know why I felt so weak. Why am I like this?

"What happened to you?" Henry asked me with a frown. I looked at him and asked, "What did you tell him in his ear?"

When I asked him, he chuckled and said, "So you were thinking about that, my little sissy?" He said it like he was teasing me. I rolled my eyes at him. He chuckled again and said, 

"Don't roll your eyes at me. I said that I'm your boyfriend."

I looked at him with widened eyes and shouted, "WHAT?"

He looked at me with a smile and asked, "No need to worry about it. I think he likes you."

I laughed and said, "That is the number one joke in the whole world, bro." He looked at me with a questioning face and said, "I'm telling the truth, Ken. Only boys know how boys will express, right? Wait, I'll tell you something." 

He said this and parked the car on the side of the road, faced me, and continued, 

"When I said that I am your boyfriend, his expression changed so quickly. He was so angry at me. I could sense it from his glare towards you."

I laughed, leaving him dumbfounded. "You... think..." I said while laughing. He glared at me. I stopped laughing and then said while controlling my laugh, 

"He is married and has a child, idiot. He is a father." I said this and laughed again. He looked at me with a questioning face. I stopped laughing and asked him, "Now what?"

He shook his head and asked me, "Who told you this?" I frowned and said, 

"I've seen it with my own eyes, bro."
