CHAPTER 7

Henry's POV

When I reached the front of the office, I didn't see her there. I waited for five minutes, but she still didn't show up. "This girl..." I murmured and dialed her number.

Kendra's POV

As I was slowly walking inside, I got a call from Henry. I picked up and said, "I'm coming," then hung up. I glanced at the alley one last time before heading back to the office.

"Where have you been?" he asked as I was stepping into the car. I shook my head with a confused expression.

"What happened?" he asked again. To cover it up, I forced a smile and said, "Nothing, just tired."

He nodded and then drove off.

At night,

As I was thinking about the envelope and the call, I received a text from Levi:

"Good evening, ma'am. I'm sorry, I know it's a bit late, but Sir has asked you to be his personal assistant starting tomorrow. Since you're familiar with the company now, Sir thinks this is the right time."

I rolled my eyes and texted back, "It's okay. But can you send me his schedule for tomorrow?"

He sent me the schedule. With a sigh, I was about to head downstairs for dinner when I got another message from Zayn. Confused, I looked at my phone:

"Good luck with your work tomorrow..." he sent with a smirk emoji. I growled in frustration and went downstairs.

End of Kendra's POV

The next day,

"You have a meeting with Mr. Fernandez today," Kendra said to Zayn as she stood in front of him. Zayn nodded and asked, "When is it?"

"In 15 minutes," she replied. Zayn nodded. With a sigh, she walked away, frustration written all over her face. "What the heck... Do I really have to face Fernandez today?" she muttered to herself, grabbing her forehead. While she was deep in thought, Olivia approached her.

"How's your new job, Ms. Kendra?" Olivia asked with an uninterested tone. Kendra sighed and looked at her.

"What? You don't like it? If you don't, you can give me the position. I'd be happy to take it," Olivia said.

Kendra looked at her with a questioning expression. "Can you please get out of my sight, Olivia?" Kendra said, trying to control herself. Just as Olivia was about to respond, Levi called Kendra.

"I'm coming, Levi," Kendra said, glaring at Olivia before walking away.

"Levi, can you do me a favor?" Kendra asked him, and he nodded with a smile.

"I know you're busy with your work, but could you escort Mr. Fernandez to the meeting room?"

"Of course, ma'am," Levi said and went on his way. After Mr. Fernandez and the other key employees were seated in the meeting room, Kendra walked towards Zayn's cabin.

"The meeting room is ready," Kendra said. Zayn nodded and stood up, but as Kendra was about to leave, Zayn called her back and said in a cold voice, "This is your first meeting with me. Behave as my assistant and show some respect in front of others."

Kendra looked at him and smirked. "I'll try," she said before walking out. Zayn sighed and followed her to the meeting room.

Fernandez's POV

While I was waiting for Mr. Collin, I saw him walk in with Kendra following behind him. I was surprised to see her at this company. Why the fuck she is here with him? Did she...? So many thoughts raced through my mind as I saw Kendra with him.
