At Kendra's house,
Morning..
"Yara, did you find anything about that X...?" Kendra asked with her cold voice. Yara shook her head and replied, "I'm sorry, Ms. Kendra. It's so difficult to find his details."
Kendra looked at her with stern eyes and said, "That's not an excuse, Yara. Just find it out. It's been more than a week since I gave you time, right?"
"Yes, ma'am..." Yara said with her head lowered. Kendra took a deep breath and said, "Get out!" Yara looked at her and mumbled, "Sorry, ma'am..." Kendra shook her head and was about to say something, but before she could, Mrs. Walker entered the room with a cup of coffee and asked Kendra while extending it to her,
"What happened?" Kendra glanced at Yara coldly and then turned to her mother, saying, "Nothing, Mom, just office issues." she said while taking the cup of coffee from her mother's hand. Mrs. Walker nodded in agreement.
"You may leave," Kendra said while sipping her coffee. Yara looked at her and said, "I'll try my best, ma'am." Kendra nodded with a disappointed expression. Yara lowered her head and left the room.
After Yara left, Kendra picked up the laptop beside her and started working while sipping her coffee. Suddenly, she received a call from Zayn. She rolled her eyes and answered,
"Hello," she said.
"No need to come to the office for a week," Zayn said coldly. Kendra frowned and asked, "But why?"
"I need to go abroad for business meetings, so while I'm away, there's no work for you at the office," he explained. Kendra nodded and said,
"But as your personal secretary I should accompany you on business trips, right?"
"No need this time. I'll inform you when I'm back," he said before hanging up. Kendra looked at her phone and sighed.
"Lydia?" Mr. Walker called his wife as he walked down the stairs. Kendra turned her attention to him.
"Mom's in the kitchen, Dad," Kendra said with a smile. Mr. Walker smiled back at her.
"Good morning, Princess," he greeted her.
"Morning, Dad," she replied with a smile and continued, "Are you heading to the office?"
Mr. Walker nodded.
"I'm coming with you," she said. Mr. Walker raised an eyebrow and asked, "Aren't you going to Collin Global?"
"No, Zayn has an overseas meeting, so he told me not to come in for a week," Kendra explained. Mr. Walker nodded and said,
"Then get ready."
Kendra smiled and headed to her bedroom.
Zayn's POV
After hanging up the call, a smile crept onto my face. Lerick gave me a suspicious look and said, "I'm sure you're in love, man."
I raised an eyebrow and asked, "What do you mean?"
Lerick came closer and said, "You're in love with Kendra, but your ego won't let you admit it."
I leaned back in my car seat and thought about it. Lerick continued, "I'm telling you, Zayn. The way you act around her is different. You don't behave this way with anyone else."
I looked at him and said, "I think I am."
When I said that, he smiled and said, "I knew it! It's your first time falling in love.. You've changed...!" by hearing him I smiled unknowingly. Then he continued,
