Aurora POV

I woke up to the unfortunate sound of my alarm going off, which unfortunately meant it was now time to start getting ready for school. I really didn't want to get out of bed, but I also didn't hear Mama at all. 

So it was either I stayed quiet in bed and took the day off school, which would probably make Mama mad or I could get up myself, leave her to sleep and then rudely wake her up.

I decided to go with the second option, I slowly got out of bed. I knew it wasn't wise to put on my uniform yet as I can be quite messy when I have to make my own breakfast and lunch. 

So I knew it was much wiser to go down in my pjs and then come back up to change. I slipped on a sweater though, it's weirdly cold today. 

I don't know if it's cold outside or just in the house, so I'd have to ask Alexa when I get downstairs. I slowly slipped on my slippers before walking quietly to my door.

I peered it open, listening for any hints of my mums being awake. Still nothing. I made my way out of my room and into the eerily quiet house. I slowly crept out of my room before hearing their door open, I looked behind me as I wasn't sure if one of them woke up.

But then Billie waltzed out of their room, she stretched as she walked over to me. I motioned for her to move a little as I shut their door how it was before we both snuck off to the stairs.

I hummed as I walked down the stairs, thinking to myself on what I would be having for breakfast. I couldn't use the oven, so pancakes and eggs were off the table. I could do frozen waffles, but then I risk the fire alarm going off because the toaster hates me.

So I mentally decided either cereal or yogurt were the best option. I could do a granola yogurt bowl though, it just depends on what granola we have. But lunch was a bigger question I had for myself.

I made my way to the bottom of the stairs, I walked down the hallway towards the kitchen. I looked ahead of me to see Billie sitting at the door, indicating that she needed to go out. I slowly walked towards her before realizing I need to turn off the back door alarm.

I walked towards the dining table and dragged a chair over to the alarm which is out of my reach. I carefully got onto the chair and turned off the alarm before I could even let Billie out. 

I hated that it was way out of my reach, but then again we didn't have Billie when it was installed and it was mostly installed to keep me safe. Or at least that's what Mama says.

I typed in the password after clicking to only deactivate the backdoor alarm. I climbed off the chair and pushed it to the side so I could relock the door when she came back in. I slowly opened the door and she bolted outside to the grass.

I knew to wait for her to come back in before doing anything else as I would forget to lock the door. So I waited patiently before she came back in, I shut the door behind her. I locked the door and pushed the chair back to reset the alarm.

I smiled happily after letting Billie do her morning business before I pushed the chair back to the table. I pushed it back in and noticed she was now laying on the floor. I decided to just let her be as I went to gather my breakfast for today.

"Alexa, set volume at 2", I say aloud then heard her repeat me before I asked, "Alexa, play Rory's playlist on Spotify".

"Playing Rory's playlist on Spotify", she repeats and I heard the softness of the first song play as I went into the pantry to find either cereal or granola.

I grabbed peanut butter chocolate granola that we have from Trader Joes, I figured this would go well with some Greek yogurt and maybe some strawberries on top.
