Aurora POV

I loved going to this school, mainly because it was in walking distance. I bike everyday though because I don't really care for walking and because Papa Clint bought me a brand new bike for my birthday.

It's a nice bike, it's pink with a basket for my school bag. It's really cool, Papa Paul also brought me something cool for my birthday. He had gotten me a gaming set up as I wanted a cool computer to play games on.

Mama and Mum let me have sims, but I had to promise not to download anything other than what EA sells. I mainly use my pc to play Minecraft with Rose, it's really cool that we can do that even though we're far from each other.

But if I am being honest, I think my favourite and I mean my favourite gift was from Uncle Charlie. He had gotten me a battery operated car and obviously it is a Ferrari. Uncle Lewis laughed when he saw it and then tried driving it before I told him, "No it's mine, get your own".

He didn't like that because well he's a Mercedes driver not a Ferrari driver. I keep telling him that he should just switch sides and join the dark side of racing with Uncle Charlie. But he says he cannot, but that he wishes because he has a lot of respect for the team.

I hadn't met many friends yet, I met one girl named Ellie short for Eleanor. She's fun to hang out with, but she always asks to come over. I haven't let her because no one knows my last name. The school only ever calls you by your first name out of privacy.

I feel bad because I have been to her house, her family is very different than mine. She has siblings that are way older than the two of us. But they are all very close in a way. I mean I have an eight year gap between me and my siblings.

"Hey Aurora", Ellie says as she ran up to me as I locked my bike up and I smiled at her as she stood there with a grin on her face.

"Hey Ellie", I greet back and she smiled before she said, "So today is going to be a fun day".

I froze for a minute as I tried to remember what was so important about today. I remember mums discussing it last night, but I was on a call with Rose so I didn't pay attention.

"You okay?", she asks and I nodded a little before saying, "I completely forgot about today, so mind me asking what's so important?".

"Today is when parents or one parent come in to discuss their careers", she says and I just nodded a little as I thought that was next week.

"I am excited because I get to meet your dad or mum", she says and I looked at her with a head tilt before I said, "My mums. I don't have a dad".

"Oh I apologize, do you know your dad?", she asks and I sighed a little before I said, "It's always been my mums and I, never had a dad. It's complicated".

"Well we should head in, apparently some parents are already here. I am so excited, I figured you got dropped off by one of yours for today", she says before racing off towards the doors as I heard the familiar sound of my Mama's truck pulling up.

I looked back as the truck parked before I saw my mums get out. I stayed where I was standing before they came walking over towards me.

"AURORA LET'S GO", I hear Ellie yell and I rolled my eyes as my mums got closer.

Ellie came running back over to me before she saw my mum and muttered out, "I didn't know Florence Pugh was a mother? Is she like a step mother to someone here or like a guardian?".
