Bright had shed the weight of his worries on Win's shoulders the night before, and it felt as though a new dawn had risen within him. With every breath, he savored the transformation: better, stronger, resolute. He turned his gaze to Win, who lay peacefully asleep beside him, a serene presence that anchored his newfound clarity.
"I wish every day could start like this," Bright murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "Opening my eyes to your beautiful face."
Win stirred slightly, a smile tugging at his lips as he nestled closer. "Then you have to marry me," he murmured, burying his nose into Bright's shoulder and inhaling deeply.
Bright's heart swelled. "You really want to marry someone as complicated as me?" he teased, laughter bubbling up in his chest.
"Well, I want to marry Bright," Win replied, his voice warm and earnest.
Bright chuckled softly, a sound filled with affection. "I've never met a lover quite like you."
"Well, I strive for perfection in everything I choose to do," Win said, his eyes still closed, but the playful challenge in his tone unmistakable.
With a tender kiss to Win's forehead, Bright felt an irresistible urge to savor the moment. "What's the plan for today? I can't take you out, but how about fishing? We could whip up some lunch together."
"Sounds like a date to me," Win said, his voice thick with sleep but his smile radiant.
"I'll get you some coffee to wake you up," Bright offered, and Win nodded, a sleepy sparkle in his eyes.
As Bright slid out of bed and made his way to the kitchen, the soft hum of their shared morning enveloped him. Just then, Win's phone rang, and he reached for it, his voice still laced with drowsiness.
"How are you?" came Shyle's voice, bright and inquisitive.
"I'm fine," Win replied, stifling a yawn.
"And Bright? Is he okay? Is he coping? Is he getting stressed?" Shyle's questions tumbled out in a rapid-fire stream, each one underscored by concern.
"He's fine. Better than before, really," Win said, his voice steady but laced with an undertone of concern. "He cried a lot yesterday."
"What? Bright cried? That's a first! Did you tell the doctor?" Shyle's incredulous tone echoed through the phone, a mix of surprise and worry.
"No, not yet. I need to, but I don't want Bright to find out. So..." Win trailed off, glancing toward the kitchen just as he heard Bright's footsteps approaching.
"Okay, talk to you later," Win said quickly, disconnecting the call and feigning sleep as Bright entered the room, a bright smile lighting up his face.
"Get up now, have your coffee," Bright said cheerfully, his voice warm and inviting.
Win couldn't help but smile as he sat up, wrapping his fingers around the steaming mug. "I'm so lucky; my boyfriend brings me coffee in bed," he beamed.
"Well, your boyfriend thinks you deserve even better treatment than this," Bright replied, plopping down across from him, coffee in hand, his eyes sparkling with affection.
Win grinned, "I'll wait for all of it."
Bright let out a joyful laugh, a sound that warmed Win from the inside out. "The weather's really nice outside. Want to go to the garden?"
"Really? Let's go!" Win exclaimed, his excitement bubbling over as he jumped up and led the way outside.
As they stepped into the garden, dark clouds loomed overhead, heavy and promising. "Wow, I've been waiting to see rain for some time," Win said, eyes wide with anticipation.
