As the morning alarm rang, Bright instinctively tightened his hold around Win, burying his face in the crook of his neck. His arms wrapped securely around Win's waist, refusing to let go.
Win, still half-asleep, let out a soft chuckle. "You don't want me to go to the office?" he murmured drowsily.
Bright nodded without a word, his grip only firming.
Win sighed, his lips curling into a small smile. "I wouldn't go if it weren't the day before the product launch. They need me at the office today."
Bright huffed in protest, but instead of replying, he pressed slow, lingering kisses against Win's cheek, his nose, and finally, his ear. The warmth of Bright's lips sent a pleasant shiver down Win's spine, making him hesitate for a moment.
For a second, he considered staying, giving in to the comfort of Bright's arms and the lazy morning light filtering through the curtains. But duty called. With a reluctant groan, Win peeled himself away, hurrying to get ready.
Bright lay sprawled on the bed, his gaze trailing after Win as he rushed toward the bathroom. His eyes lingered on the smooth curve of Win's body, captivated by the way his muscles moved with each step. A smirk played on Bright's lips, amusement flickering in his gaze before Win disappeared behind the door.
The day stretched long in Win's absence. Bright lazed around the house before finally grabbing his coffee and stepping onto the porch. The sky was a shade of soft blue, birds chirping in the distance, but his thoughts were restless.
Shyle, passing by, caught sight of him sitting alone. She walked up, settling beside him. "What's on your mind?"
Bright took a sip of his coffee, exhaling a deep sigh. "Just... things. Here and there."
"Win?" Shyle guessed, tilting her head.
Bright let out a small chuckle, nodding. "I think he deserves better in life."
Shyle's lips curled into a knowing smile. "I think he already has a pretty good life—his career, his goals, his family, and most of all, a lover he can depend on."
Bright looked at her and gave a small nod, thoughtful.
"Don't overthink it," Shyle continued. "Life's short. Every second, we're just inching closer to the end. I used to think too much about what life meant, but then I realized—we're lucky to be here at all. We laugh, we cry, we love. That's more than enough."
Bright stayed silent, absorbing her words.
"People forget how much they have because they're too busy thinking about what they don't," Shyle added. "So, I've decided—I'll be grateful. Even in the hard times, life gave me you, and Tisha. And that's more than enough."
"I don't think you came from less," came a voice from behind. Tisha walked in, standing with her arms crossed.
Shyle smiled.
Tisha settled on Bright's other side. "If it weren't for you, I don't think I'd have been able to take care of Win or this business. You were my anchor when I was lost. If anything, I owe you."
Bright glanced between them, their eyes glistening, their emotions palpable. He cleared his throat, disrupting the moment. "What's up with you two? Getting all sentimental out of nowhere."
Tisha chuckled.
"Bright, don't take Win's rejection to heart," she said gently.
Bright let out a laugh, shaking his head. "He's not wrong for rejecting that proposal. But I guess I'll just have to work harder to buy him that private jet."
