Is it Casual Now?

Arriving at the party had you are a bit anxious, you hadn't been to anything like this before. Well you have with Taylor but you weren't specifically invited as your own person. You still know this isn't a good idea but maybe Gracie has officially moved on and this album will just be a reflection of that. There's just so many reasons why you shouldn't be here but you told Camila you would.

"Hi first and last name?" A lady dressed in all black holding a clipboard asks

"Oh I'm y/n y/l/n" you reply in a high pitched polite tone

The lady checks something off.

"Okay welcome in" she smiles

Walking in there are strong spotlights and a big banner that says "Asshole of the Year". Random banner but funny in a way, Dua hadn't really mentioned much about the song. The more you kept walking the more your eyes were blurring everyone out till you found Dua. She looked stunning as always, she sure wore something that would make you want to look at her all night. You already couldn't wait to go home with her.

She quickly recognized you but she quickly avoided eye contact and went back to talking to whoever she was talking to. It didn't hurt you obviously because you aren't supposed to be seen together anyways but it reminded you of the past once again.

"You came!" Camila exclaims and she hugs you

"Of course for you" you smile

"Come hang out with us, Diana is here" Camila says as she pulls your hand

You turn back to look at Dua and she looks at you too. She nods and smiles at you, you needed that. You need that reassurance that this isn't going to be forever, the hiding being together.

"Hey you long time no see!" Diana says and she opens her arms waiting for you to hug her.

"Yea it has been a long time how have you been?" You ask her

"Good good and you?" She replies

"Good as well" you smile

You turn to look at Gracie sitting on a couch surrounded by so many drinks. You know Gracie doesn't really think about her actions when it comes to two simple drinks so you're hoping none of those are hers. To make sure you decide to go greet her.

"Gracie hi everything looks amazing" you say

She looks up at you with a soft smile however the tension still sits there. You're hoping it's just your mind making you feel this way but Gracie still looks at you in the way she should be looking at Camila. You know this because you look at Dua the same way. You're hoping your best friend is filling that spot you once filled in Gracie's life. Hoping they're deeply in love with each other.

"I'm happy you came, come I need to introduce you to Dua, well not introduce but you know reintroduction" Gracie suggest as she pulls you with her hand guiding you through people

This is possibly the worst thing that can happen at this party. You're not a good actress at all so you have to somehow pretend that you're uncomfortable around Dua. You felt bad that you were about to catch Dua by surprise too, she will have no time to prepare for what's about to happen so you have to introduce yourself first so she can get the hint of what's truly going on.

"Here we are" Gracie says as she goes to tap on Dua's shoulder

Dua turns to your direction and she nearly drops her drink. Bad start already!

"It's so good to see you after all these years" you quickly say as you to reach your hand out

Dua's eyes finally realizing what's going on. Her pupils becoming dilated as she looks at you.
