5 months later

Things were getting better for you here in London. A lot of trying to forget consumed most of your time but it was finally taking a toll. You haven't forgotten about Dua though, don't think you ever will. After much reflecting once you got here, you realized that everything you did was foolish especially leaving Dua with no explanation. But you're also a strong believer that things happen for a reason. You haven't had social media ever since you left LA so you weren't aware of what Dua or your friends have been up to. Well you did watch Daisy Jones and the Six, Camila looked really good in it.

"Hey you" you hear as hands wrap around your neck. Claire (Clairo) says

"Hi" you smile, her lips land on yours.

Clairo is a girl you met your first month here. It isn't just some hook up type of thing it's an actual relationship, you weren't looking for one but you ended up in one. But it felt unfair because Dua is still on your mind and she will always be unfortunately but maybe Claire can take that away? You've never tried to be with someone to forget her. Gracie wasn't that to you it was just for pleasure.

"Are you coming to my show later tonight?" She asks

"Of course" you smile

Claire is also a singer, you definitely have a type. She goes by Clairo on stage but yea she's more of a low key singer. She likes it that way though, having the privacy she has made it worth it unlike when you're a huge star. She's so soft and sweet, she's already written music about you which she constantly plays for you at her apartment. But it's been 5 months with her and you still think of Dua everyday.

"You really need to get a normal phone, a flip phone is mysterious and cute but I can't FaceTime you" she pouts

Yes as humiliating as it sounds you own a flip phone instead of a normal phone like everyone else. It isn't to be mysterious or anything, well maybe it is? It's also just because you don't want to accidentally download any app that can show you everything you left behind in LA. All your social media accounts still existed but you weren't active since the day you left LA. You've been fighting it at school when you have a computer in your sight to not log into your instagram, you know you'll find a dm from Dua. You also know that if you read one it'll make your forgetting journey start over.

"Why face time when you can just come pick me up at Uni everyday? What if you get sick of my face?" you pout

"you know that would never happen you're just some grandma or something but I sort of love it so it's okay" she squeezes your face

Your daily life is mostly spent at school, even weekends you stayed in to study. You're not planning to stay in London forever, you want to return to LA once you're done with school because that's where the real lawyer money is at. As sick as it may sound, you still plan on being with Dua, in fact you partially came to London because she's originally from here. Part of you came here because she's bound to show up one day right? It sounds very toxic but that's all you really knew.

"Your ticket please" the venue worker asks

"Oh um I'm y/n here" you say pulling out your ID

"Right sorry come with me you'll enter from backstage" she smiles and you thank her

It's a small venue but there were tons of people waiting in line to get in. Although claire is a lowkey artist she continues to grow her audience. Again Dua comes to mind as you enter the venue. You never went to see Dua at a show because she wasn't touring or anything but it would be really nice to see her perform. She's always haunting your mind but tonight you have to focus on Claire so you need to snap out of it.
