Is it Casual Now?

Dua ignored you the entire day like she did the last entire year. It meant she took what you said last night seriously and although this should make you feel better it really doesn't. In debate she looked at you for what felt like a second and then she never did again. Last night was a mistake, you and her both know it. You knew it was going to be before you even got into your car and drove to her. It made the entire process of you letting go of her start right all over again. You're sure for her it's been going the same way.

You've been daydreaming in all your classes about it, holding her close to the point that you both fell asleep. It has to mean something. It does mean something but she will never think of it that way. There's love there but it's never going to happen. You hate that you know that but still you yearn for her. Still after having no contact for a year you're still so desperate for her.

Luckily the school day is over. As you open your locker an envelope falls out hitting the ground, you pick it up and it has the initials

D.L.

It's from Dua obviously, a letter though? Why didn't she just text you?

"Hey" you hear causing you to turn back from your locker, it's Rina

"Oh hi Rina" you reply

"Why were you at my house at 2 am last night?" She asks as she leans on your locker

Oh crap she saw you! Told your dad the headlights were too damn bright. What could you even say you were doing there especially at 2 am. You can't say Dua and you are "friends" again because it simply isn't true just like how it never was. What do you say? What do you say?

"I saw Dua get out your car, are you guys friends again?" She says waiting for your answer

"Uh no she said she needed a ride and I happen to be around where she was so I said why not?" You say

"I don't believe that at all, I know I never asked but what even happened between you two? to all of a sudden stop being around each other?" She asks

You stand there not answering because you don't know what you can say or not. Dua could've already made up the story on why you two stopped being "friends" so if you say something you can ruin it.

"Ever since you left her life she's been sad and all to herself it doesn't make sense please just tell me what happened so I can know how to make her feel better" she pleads

That's it though, you can't tell her or Dua's life will be ruined. Maybe it won't? It's a question you'll never know the answer for. Not telling Rina the truth won't help her with Dua though, yes you and Dua aren't anything anymore but her being sad doesn't make you feel good at all. Yesterday when you saw her crying you crumbled completely. What if Dua cries like that a lot? All because she can't understand herself? But maybe telling Rina the truth will make it worse.

"I stop being her friend because I was tired of being picked on and hidden, I told her to buzz off that's all" you lie

"I know this is going to sound crazy but maybe you guys can reconcile, I fear that maybe she needs someone like you, you know a good friend. I worry about her but she doesn't see it in that way and well my parents worry too, unfortunately a bit less but yea would you help?" She says

"Hey y/n you good?" Camila says as she walks up besides you

"We're having a private conversation if you don't mind" Rina fake smiles

"Oh that's my fault but my friend here seems to look uncomfortable so I think you should ask if she minds this conversation" Camila responds

Rina looks at you for explanation to what's going on right now but you're not even able to speak. So much in your head right now.
