Car rides with Nop were usually silent. He didn't know adding one more person to the car would make him want to roll his eyes.
"Boss, I just corrected the presentation, can you check it again?" Tay asked him without looking at Vegas. The man's eyes just couldn't take away from the laptop in front of him.
They were in the car on their way to headquarters for the General Meeting. Vegas and Nop were used to it, but this was Tay's first time. Vegas could see that the man was very nervous and uneasy. He was busy fixing and checking files here and there. It was only a matter of time before the car dashboard was filled with scattered documents. Nop couldn't say anything and just patiently pushed the documents out of his driving sight.
Vegas checked the email Tay had just sent him. He frowned, "What did you fix?" he couldn't find any difference from the presentation the man sent 10 minutes ago.
"I only changed the word earnings into revenue." Tay answered him.
Vegas sighed loudly, "Shut down your laptop now."
"But, boss-"
"Shut it down." Vegas repeated his order more firmly. He understood Tay was nervous but this was too much. Even Nop was chuckling from the driving seat.
Tay obediently closed his laptop then gathered the documents and put them in his briefcase, "Sorry boss, I'm afraid you will be disappointed if I don't prepare it well."
"Don't worry too much, Tay. Boss is the one doing the presentation, you are just helping him." Nop said while looking at Vegas from the rearview mirror while chuckling. He knew Vegas was deliberately messing with Tay.
"Oh, I thought-thank God..." Tay took a relieve breath, "Boss didn't tell me..."
"So that you have other problems besides not being able to drive a car." Vegas replied nonchalantly.
"I have another problems, boss and I'm taking driving lessons." Tay frantically explained, "Actually I wanted to say this before but couldn't find the right time, I'm sorry for not knowing you are married and Pete is your husband..." he apologized.
"It's fine." Vegas answered while looking at the wedding ring on his left hand. The two rings available in the store turned out to fit both of their fingers. They took the ring home without having to resize it. Even so, only Vegas wore the ring. Pete still hadn't put his ring on and Vegas didn't blame him.
"You may hear a thing or two from Pete, but I just want to let you know that I have nothing but respect for you and the company." Tay blurted out quickly, "What I said was just the result of feeling tired from working too much."
Vegas turned to Tay with a look full of interest. He definitely cursed Vegas in front of Pete and now felt the need to clarify it. But Pete wasn't a big mouth. He was kind to all his friends and that was the reason why Arm and Pol agreed to be his lawyers when everyone else refused.
"Your secret is safe with Pete, he hasn't told me anything other than your complaints about driving problems." Vegas said, "You should have known he is that kind of guy."
"Ah, you're right, boss." Tay agreed with a smile, "He is that kind of person."
Vegas tried to ignore the proud look Nop gave him in the rearview mirror. At least Nop wasn't too surprised anymore if Vegas did something nice for Pete.
They arrived just in time before the meeting was about to start. Vegas did it on purpose. He purposely stalled the time so he didn't have to meet anyone before the meeting.
"Boss, do you think we can convince your father to agree to the reform?" Nop asked him just before he opened the meeting door. Tay also looked at him, as if saying he also had the same doubts as Nop.
