Neither of them was doing well after the incident in the harbor slums. He was finally cleared of the charge of killing his father at the cost of two other lives and affecting his husband even more. It was not a relief to him.
When Vegas was down, he would drag himself to Pete's arms and snuggled to him like there was tomorrow. When Pete was down, he preferred to have alone time and Vegas would leave him alone until Pete himself came to him.
But who did they lean on when they both fell at the same time?
"Boss, your husband is here." Dia's call made his eyebrows raise. It was unusual for Pete to come to his office in the middle of the day, especially since he had taken over all of Phongsakorn's holdings. Vegas was busy, Pete was even busier.
Not Even a few seconds after Dia called, the door opened. Pete entered the room with his usual cheerful smile while showing the plastic in his hand.
"Why don't you rest for a while, boss?" he teased.
Vegas smiled then put down the documents he was reading. He was planning to walk to approach Pete but for some reasons Pete came to him instead. He pushed Vegas to sit back in the chair as he swung one leg over his lap and made himself comfortable on Vegas' lap.
Then he kissed him, the kind of kiss that would leave him breathless.
"If this is the kind of break you're offering, I'll take it any day." Vegas grinned, his hand squeezing Pete's ass.
Pete laughed, "I bought some snacks. I was on my way back to the office after visiting a project on site and passed by your office." He pecked Vegas on the cheek.
Vegas hummed and closed his eyes as the small kisses continued downward until Pete was sucking on the crook of his neck. As much as Vegas enjoyed the attention, he knew Pete was here for a reason.
"Hmm... So what's actually bothering you?" Vegas asked.
The kiss abruptly stopped and Pete looked at him, frowning, "Why are you asking that?"
Vegas smiled softly, "I love you, babe, I know you're more passionate when there's something on your mind." He replied, "You can talk to me before your secretary calls Nop because his boss ran away."
Pete pouted, "I hate you. I can't hide anything from you now."
"I love you too." Vegas pecked his lips, "Is this about a certain baby at the temple?"
Pete smiled slightly and nodded.
Vegas could only sigh. He noticed Pete was even more absent-minded after they returned from the temple. If Pete didn't look like he's thinking, he was busy on his laptop or cell phone, looking for something and he would quickly turn it off the second Vegas tried to peek at his sudden interest.
They had come across a baby during their recent random visit to the temple few weeks ago. A poor baby, probably only a few weeks old, very skinny and shivering a lot. His eyes were already seeing and he cried every time he saw anyone other than Luang Por.
Pete tried to hold him, looking very interested and excited about the baby after they finished shopping for baby supplies. But as soon as Luang Por handed him to Pete, the baby cried loudly. In panic, Pete handed the baby to him instead of Luang Por. Vegas took the baby, afraid that the baby would fall from Pete's shaking hands and surprisingly the baby calmed down.
So now, Pete called him the baby whisperer.
The reason the baby was calm only in his and Luang Por's hands was still mysterious. Maybe because Vegas had more experience holding babies when Macau was still small or the baby's parents had body shapes like Vegas, he didn't know anymore.
