"Khun Vegas, we want to hear more about your project. Perhaps we should schedule a meeting?"
Vegas smiled, businesslike, accepting the offered handshake, "The honor is ours, Khun. My team will contact you for further information."
"Khun Vegas." Another voice called out to him.
Vegas quickly finished his current conversation to move on to another, "Khun Han." He greeted a familiar person, "What do you think?"
"I think you can hear good news from MX." Han laughed as he patted Vegas' shoulder lightly, "Ah, I was just talking to your husband. Looks like he's on his family's side at the moment."
"He respects his grandfather the most." Vegas answered calmly, "But I guarantee he'll come home with me."
"I don't doubt it." Han seemed engrossed in teasing him, "Well, one of your team has contacted us. I'll see you soon."
"See you, Khun." Vegas smiled then asked someone to take Han to the lobby.
Somehow, he suddenly gained confidence on stage. He managed to give a thorough presentation and answer all the questions directed at him. The engaging presentation created by Tay's team coupled with the way he conveyed the uniqueness of their project, he surprisingly received a standing ovation upon completion.
The results were immediate. He had talked to many people asking about follow-up meetings regarding their projects. Han should be one of the few people still left in the conference room. Just a little more and he could finally meet his husband.
Pete watched him the entire time during the presentation, with a dimpled smile and sometimes a reassuring nod. He hoped no one noticed how often Vegas' eyes were on Pete instead of looking ahead because looking at Pete actually calmed him down. He wanted to go straight to him as soon as he finished, but the overwhelming response from the participants meant he had to put business first before running to his husband.
He heard Pete's laughter and his face immediately scrunched up.
Kinn, his damn cousin, had somehow kept talking to the old man and Pete from the moment he finished his presentation until now. Even when other people approached them, trying to talk to the famous Phongsakorn, Kinn stayed there and talked to Pete instead. Thinking that the old man first thought he would marry Pete to Kinn and how the old man acted so excessively towards Kinn really annoyed him.
He called Tay to take his place to speak with the remaining people so he could finally leave his position. The old man, Pete, and Kinn seemed to be preparing to leave the place but stopped when they saw Vegas approaching them.
"I hope I entertained you enough, Khun." Vegas forced a smile, talking to the old man while standing himself next to Pete.
"Nothing impressive, but not bad." The old man answered him flatly.
"He meant well." Pete added in, "It's a compliment."
The old man snorted, "I wasn't complimenting him."
"Not by your words, grandpa." Pete smiled, "But you let the directors approach Tay first. I know what it meant."
The old man snorted even more and darted his eyes somewhere else, "Don't be absurd."
Pete chuckled, "You also invited him to dinner tonight."
"I invited him because of you." The old man hurriedly explained.
Vegas frowned. He had never heard of the plan before, "Dinner?"
Pete nodded, "Grandpa invited us to dinner tonight. Can you come?"
