Surprisingly, Kinn still helped him.
Headquarters didn't bother him for two days after the meeting and as Vegas predicted, they finally found out the truth on the third day. He got a call from headquarters and luckily was able to turn it down, saying he had an important meeting with some investors over the next few days. His reasoning wouldn't last long but at least it would give him more time to find suitable investors.
He acted like finding the right investor after a successful pitch was easy, but it actually gave him more of a headache than he thought.
He took a deep breath as Tay piled more printed proposals onto his desk, "This many?"
"There's more, boss." Nop piled up more documents.
"I have scheduled a meeting at 2 this afternoon with the BOD. It seems impossible, but I hope you can read as much of the proposal as you can." Tay explained.
Vegas nodded in understanding and took the top document from the pile. He read the company name then raised his eyebrows, "Phongsakorn?"
Tay nodded, "Yes, boss."
"Why? Is their offer good?" Vegas asked. He had told Tay beforehand to put the proposal with the better offer on top.
Tay made a face, "Not quiet. Their offer is something that I think is feasible for both parties. There are other proposals that are more favorable to us." He replied, "I just thought you would want to see Phongsakorn's proposal first, considering Pete."
"It's feasible because the proposal must come from the old man." Vegas commented and decided to open Phongsakorn's documents, "But besides Pete, the rest of Phongsakorn is a jerk."
"Got it, boss." Tay grinned.
Vegas spent the entire afternoon reading and going to meetings. The meeting lasted until after work hours were over. He had been doing it for the past few days, going to the office early and coming home late.
Pete understood the situation very well. A couple of times, he even accidentally fell asleep in the living room waiting for Vegas even though Vegas told him to sleep first. He tried to go home as early as possible but sometimes, he couldn't help it.
His work for that day was finally over. He took the elevator down to the lobby and waited for Nop to come to pick him up. A car stopped in front of him, but the car was not his. The driver got out of the car and he immediately knew whose car it was.
"Khun Vegas." The driver bowed to him.
"Why are you here?" Vegas asked displeased. His eyes noticed that Nop had finally arrived at the lobby and his butler immediately got out of the car to stand beside him.
"Khun Korn asked me to pick you up. He is waiting for you at headquarters." The driver answered like a robot.
Vegas snorted. Now they were using force to tell him to go to the headquarter, "I'm tired, I'll go tomorrow." He took a step towards his car but the driver quickly blocked his way.
"Khun Korn understands that you are busy, Khun Vegas. That's why he asked me to meet you before you go home."
"If he knew I was that busy, you shouldn't be here in the first place." Vegas complained, "I refuse."
"What's your reason, Khun Vegas?" the driver asked with a straight face.
"It's already past my work hours." Vegas replied, "My husband is also waiting for me at home to have dinner together. I have priorities and meeting your boss is not one of them."
Vegas walked past the driver and Nop immediately blocked the driver before he blocked Vegas again, "Phi Chan, please understand."
"I'll still come tomorrow, if you don't go tonight, khun," Chan told him, his tone sounding like a threat, "Believe me, it's better for you to go today than tomorrow."
