Tawan was still with Pete. It seemed like he was the one who talked a lot while Pete just listened to everything Tawan said to him with a straight face. Vegas really wanted to save him from Tawan, but it looked like Pete had him under control.
"The drink, babe." Vegas gave Pete his glass.
Pete frowned, "Water?"
"The night is young." Vegas reasoned. Pete nodded and drank the water without further protest.
Another glass of cold water still remained in his left hand. He deliberately stretched out his hand towards Tawan, making the man think that Vegas wanted to give him a drink. As Tawan wanted to take his glass, Vegas withdrew his hand and drank it with an innocent face instead. Tawan's face immediately turned red with shame.
"Pffttt..." Pete saw all of this and held back another laugh.
"Sorry, I didn't realize you were thirsty too." Vegas pretended to care, "Why don't you get someone to bring you a drink?"
Tawan snorted sarcastically at him before turning around and leaving without saying anything to them.
"That was so childish." Pete still laughed.
"He's one of the hosts tonight, I can't do too much." He replied, "What did he talk to you about?"
"About you mostly." Pete answered truthfully. Vegas already knew that Tawan was trying to shame him in front of Pete.
"Anything I need to explain or clarify?" Vegas asked.
Pete thought for a moment, "At first he accused me of brainwashing you." He began, "He pushed me to explain my trick. He was so adamant about it, I'm afraid he really wants to brainwash someone."
Vegas snorted while sipping his drink. Poor Kinn.
"Then he told me you've already slept with half the people here." Pete continued.
Vegas choked on his water, "What the hell?!?!" he shouted as the people around him started to look at him.
For some reason, Pete looked amused, "I thought that was ridiculous until I realized that he actually invited a lot of his friends."
Vegas couldn't believe it, "That's not true!" he denied it frantically. He was wild but he was not that wild.
"Let's test this." Pete pulled him along until they were facing a young man who was talking to an older man, "Do you know him?"
Tawan's college friend. Vegas forgot his name but he had slept with him. Why did Pete pick him in the first place?
"Errr... No?" He lied.
Right after he denied the young man, his eyes suddenly met Vegas then the man winked at him while waving his hand at him. Vegas froze in his spot.
"You definitely know each other!" Pete laughed, "How about him?" Pete pointed at another man.
Damn it, he knew him as well.
If this continued, he would only prove what Tawan said about him to be true. Why were all of Tawan's friends suddenly in this room? Where the hell were all the old business partners they had talked before??
"Oh, you must already know him." Pete suddenly said to him, his eyes on someone, "He's from that night."
Vegas followed Pete's gaze and his eyes met the man he slept with before he went back in time. It seemed the man wasn't happy to see him either, he looked at Vegas with stink eyes.
He just remembered he took the man's wallet.
And just like that night, his wallet wasn't with him, "I think I need to borrow your money, Pete."
