The door was still closed to him. Pete asked him to give him some time so he eventually dragged himself back to Macau's room. He expected him and Chay to play the game, but once he got there, the two were actually sleeping side by side on the carpet. He knew how hard it was for the two teenagers to fall asleep. He tiptoed over, covered them with the blanket, and left the room quietly.

His mansion was huge. He could have chosen any room to sleep in but he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep so he decided to visit the one room he visited least often.

His father's bedroom.

His father lived in his bedroom with his girlfriend. One day after his father died, Vegas kicked his girlfriend out of the house with enough money to spend heavily for 10 years. The room was empty after she moved out, only his father's clothes remained in the walk-in closet and a few personal items whose fate he had yet to determine.

Vegas moved around the bedroom, opening the drawers one by one and couldn't find anything related to his mother or him and Macau. It almost like his father assumed that they didn't exist at all. At times like this, sometimes he thought he wasn't so angry with Tawan and Sontham for killing him.

Vegas closed the last drawer in his father's bedroom. He had already decided to give his father's things to charity after further inspection. He would ask Macau to look at the room before he did so in case Macau wanted to keep something in memory of his father. But for Vegas, there was nothing in the room worth keeping.

As the night still long, he took his laptop and used his time to work and reply to emails. These last few days, Tay had helped him a lot. He knew Vegas was very busy and only sent him the important documents he needed to check and approve. Therefore, there wasn't much to do and he still had a few hours before sunrise.

With so much time on his hands, he went to the kitchen. He checked the ingredients in the fridge and decided to make something for Pete. He was going to make lasagna, the first dish he ever cooked for him. He would bring the food when he met Pete later. He had to explain everything to Pete so he would know that Vegas had no intention of hiding it from him but because the story Vegas told would be hard for many people to believe, including him.

In the morning, two hungry teenagers came to the kitchen to get food. He was glad that after all this crazy stuff had happened, they both still had an appetite.

Chay decided to start attending school again at Porsche's request. He told him that he was going to visit his brother after school and would return home with Kinn. Vegas tried hard not to snort at Kinn's behavior as that man ran straight ahead at full speed after breaking off his engagement-to-be with Tawan. He was shameless now.

As for Macau, he was still reluctant to go back to the boarding school. Vegas assumed the press conference last night made him hesitate even more as his friends now knew his father was just murdered. Vegas wouldn't force him to go to school quickly but he made a note to ask his teacher for an alternative so that Macau wouldn't fall behind his fellow students.

And then Pete...

Pete still hadn't eaten anything since last night. Vegas asked his servant to put some food in front of the door and it remained untouched. Pete didn't even read the message he sent, asking him to at least eat a little.

Right after the oven beeped, Vegas took out the freshly baked lasagna from the oven and immediately put it on the tray. He'd already made a few more things that went great with lasagna. His servants already offered his help to bring the tray full of food to Pete but Vegas refused it and brought it himself to the second floor.

He cleared his throat, "Babe, can I come? I bring food."

There was no answer as he expected.

He'd given Pete enough time to himself and their misunderstandings wouldn't go away just by avoiding each other so Vegas put himself on the line.
