The day they found his father's body in the bathroom, he recalled being dragged to the police station, still drunk from drinking too much the night before. Everyone was just trying to explain the horrible situation he was in at that moment, caught with the body of his murdered father alone with his fingerprints all over the place, but his brain just unable to process anything.
By the time he finally realized everything, Macau came to him with a furious face as tears flowed from his eyes, screaming at Vegas asking why Vegas killed their father. Facing the younger brother who used to be close to him but didn't believe his words at all, honestly traumatized him.
"Hiaaaa!!!" Macau crushed into him as soon as he walked into the police station. His body was shaking uncontrollably in his arms.
At least his trauma with Macau would not occur in this life.
"Sorry, I didn't answer your call." Vegas muttered softly as he tried to calm Macau, "Are you okay?"
Macau moved away from him, "Pa's gone, how can I be okay?!?" he was angry for three seconds before crying again, "How could you turn off your phone?!? I was really scared!!"
"Sorry, I didn't expect something like this to happen." He answered, clearly in distress. Receiving news of his father's death was not something he thought he would hear in this life, "I came here as soon as I can."
"It's too late now..." Macau sobbed, "Hiaa, pa is gone..."
"I know." Vegas sighed then pulled Macau into his arms while stroking his back.
Pete finally caught up. Vegas ran away from the car as he was worried that Macau was alone at the police station, leaving Pete to sort things out with the other police officers at the reception.
"Macau, I'm sorry." Pete joined his hand stroking Macau's back.
"The police are looking for you..." Macau said, "They asked me to sign the autopsy authorization but I told them to ask for your signature."
He and Pete looked at each other.
"Macau, where is Chay?" Pete asked carefully.
Macau bit his lip, "He's in that room." He pointed to the door of what Vegas assumed was the interrogation room, "He tried to see Phi Porsche but the detectives wouldn't let him..."
Vegas nodded, "Can you wait for me here for a moment?" he told Macau, "Nop is coming. Have you had your breakfast? Go with Nop—"
"I'm fine, hiaaa, just—" he swallowed hard, "Help Chay... Maybe the officer listens to you more than him."
"We'll be back." Vegas ruffled Macau's hair slightly.
Like a cue, the door was opened. An officer with a full uniform went out and immediately approached them.
"Khun Vegas Theerapanyakun and Khun Pete Phongsakorn?" he asked.
"Yes, they are us." He answered.
"I'm sorry for your lost." The officer bowed slightly then walked across the room he came out of, seemingly taking them to another room, "Please, Khun."
"Officer, before we start, can we meet Chay?" Pete thought the same way.
The officer looked unsure, "It doesn't seem possible, Khun." He replied, "It's pretty chaotic inside."
"My lawyers are on the way here, they will represent all of us. But we want to meet Chay first." Vegas added, "And Porsche..."
The officer just stared at him for a moment before sighing and walking back to the door and opening it. He went inside first and made way for him and Pete to enter. They actually entered a buffer room, where there was a passage leading to several other doors. The officers led them to a door further back. He didn't hear it before but as they got closer, he heard Chay's voice—no—Chay's scream from inside the room.
