Felix pov.
“Come on, we really don’t have to go anywhere” I heard for what felt like the hundredth time.“Jisung...” I sighed. “You’re repeating yourself, you know?”
“Because I’m waiting for you to change your mind and stay home.”
“And I’m supposed to believe you suddenly don’t want to go? Not this time, Ji, I know how much you want to be there” I said, glancing at the boy's reaction.
“B-but, how do you know that, huh?”
“Since you flew in with those wonderful news for me, you haven’t stopped talking about it.” I let out a quiet chuckle. “And I’m supposed to believe that an hour before the whole event, you suddenly want to stay? I won’t be fooled.”
I finished fixing my hair in the mirror and reached for my shoes. “Come on. We’re going whether you like it or not. Remember, I’m going because of you, so I can change my mind at any moment.”
One Week Ago
I sat in class, staring at the board, feeling time pass at a terrifying pace. Since Jisung dashed off to Chan with a text about an "urgent meeting," I felt anxiety fill my head. I did everything: solved math problems, read a few chapters of my book, and even scrolled through social media. Finally, bored and impatient, I just sat in silence, staring at every point in the room. Jisung hadn’t returned for a good few minutes, and my doubts about whether he would come back at all were growing. Finally, the classroom door swung open, and Jisung burst in with a wide smile on his face.
“Felix!” he exclaimed, practically bouncing with joy. “You won’t believe what happened!”
I looked at him, slightly raising an eyebrow.
“Come on, what’s so urgent that you had to disappear for half an hour?” I asked, trying to hide my irritation.
“Halloween party!” he shouted, waving his phone. “We got invited to Chan’s party. It’s going to be the biggest event of the year”
I glanced at him skeptically.
“A party at Chan’s? I don’t know, Ji...” I murmured, looking up at his face. “Halloween, crowds of people... It really doesn’t sound like something I want to do.”
Jisung furrowed his brow, but then that pleading expression I knew all too well appeared on his face.
“Felix, please... This isn’t just any party. Chan is doing something mega special. Costumes, music, and... everyone will be there.” He looked at me with those big eyes. “Come on, it’ll be fun. We’ll do something together, like in the old days.”
I hesitated, staring at him for a moment. The last thing I wanted was to be at a party among strangers. But looking at Jisung, I knew he really cared about this. He had always been more social, and I... well, I preferred quiet evenings.
“I don’t know, Ji...” I started, but he already knew I was losing this battle.
“Please, please, please! I promise we’ll have a great time. I can even help you pick a costume if you want!” he said enthusiastically.
I sighed, knowing I didn’t stand a chance. Jisung was the only person I would do this for.
“Fine, I’m in. But only because it matters to you.” I smiled a bit resignedly. “And remember, I can change my mind at any moment.”
Jisung threw me a broad smile, as if he knew I couldn’t refuse. “I knew you’d agree! It’s going to be epic.”

When we walked into the mall, Jisung immediately dove into the first costume shop window, and I followed him, trying to keep up with his enthusiasm.
“Look, this looks like a vampire costume!” he shouted, pointing at a black cape hanging on a mannequin. “You have to try it on!”
“I’m not sure that’s my style” I replied, glancing around the store. The variety of costumes was overwhelming, but I felt that this could actually be fun.
At that moment, I noticed two boys from the younger class, Seungmin and Jeongin, rummaging through the shelves of accessories.
“Hey, what are you guys doing here?” I asked, stepping closer.
Seungmin looked at us, confused. “And you? Are you looking for costumes too?”
“Yeah, we’re going to Chan’s Halloween party!” Jisung said, enthusiastically sharing our plans.
“Halloween party?” Jeongin repeated, furrowing his brow. “We didn’t know about any party.”
Jisung froze in shock for a moment, and I couldn’t help but smile at the sight of his surprised face.
“Seriously? You must have not received the invitations! It’s going to be a mega event!” Jisung shouted. “Everyone will be there!”
Seungmin and Jeongin exchanged glances. “But we don’t have any costumes” Seungmin said, slightly worried. “We didn’t know something like this was in the works.”
“You can always find something quickly” I added, approaching them. “What ideas do you have for costumes?”
Jisung began searching through the shelves, and I noticed Jeongin staring at a zombie costume.
“Maybe we could just be zombies?” Jeongin suggested, still gazing at the creepy accessories.
Seungmin laughed. “That would be pretty easy. Although... I don’t know if that’s enough to stand out.”
“Don’t worry, guys! Together we’ll find something amazing!” Jisung shouted, ready for further searches.
I felt that what started as a simple shopping trip could turn into something really special. And maybe Seungmin and Jeongin would be able to join our party crew.
