Jisung pov.
I sat on the couch, staring at Felix, who was lying on the bed, wrapped in a blanket like a cocoon. Since Hyunjin and Seungmin left, Felix had become just a shadow of himself. He switched TV channels aimlessly, sometimes dozing off. He even stopped coming back to Hyunjin in the morning. With each passing moment, my anger grew. I couldn’t stand it any longer.

I decided to take matters into my own hands. I firmly approached the bed and threw off the blanket. Felix woke up, confused, his eyes filled with surprise.

“Felix, enough of this!” I exclaimed. “Either you talk to Hyunjin, or I will!”

In response, I only heard his muffled voice.

“But it won’t change anything…”

“I might have been annoyed by your cuddling in front of me, but I didn’t endure your affections as a single just to live in an even worse atmosphere now! I won’t let you break up at all costs. If you won’t go talk to him, I will!”

I left the room before Felix could protest. I left him in uncomfortable silence, but I felt that I had to act. I needed to try to fix what had broken.

With every step toward the exit, hope burned in my heart. Maybe this time I could change something.

Felix pov.
When I opened my eyes, my first impulse was to close them again. However, seeing Hyunjin sitting on the bed, I couldn’t do that. His hands gently stroked my head, causing a mix of surprise and unease in my body. I jumped up as if burned, instinctively moving to the edge of the bed.

“Hyunjin, what are you doing?” I blurted out, my voice sounding like a rustling noise in my ears.

“Calm down, Lixie,” he replied, raising his hands in a gesture of reassurance. “Don’t be afraid. I know what’s going on.”

“Well? ” I asked, uncertain of what I should feel. I had the impression that nothing in this situation was simple.

Hyunjin lowered his voice, and his expression grew more serious. “It’s about that tattoo, right? I know you’re worried because of it.”

I pressed my lips together, unsure of how to respond. He was in the best position to understand why it worried me so much.

“It doesn’t mean anything, really,” he continued, and I was curious about what he would say next. “It’s just a coincidence. You know that such coincidences happen often. There’s nothing wrong with it.”

I began to ponder his words. Could it be possible that the situation that troubled me so much was just a coincidence?

“My tattoo,” he continued, “is just something I did in the past. It has nothing to do with you or anyone else. I decided to get it because it meant something to me in a different context. It’s just a tattoo, nothing more.”

I still wasn’t sure whether to believe him. His gaze was full of sincerity, but my doubts were still strong. After all, he was the one who had been avoiding me for the past few days.

“Hyunjin…” I began, but he interrupted me.

“Just trust me, okay? I know it’s not easy, but I don’t want you to feel bad about something that doesn’t matter. You have to believe me,” he added, his voice more firm.

That made sense, at least partially. I decided to give him a chance. Maybe I was finally starting to understand.

“Alright…” I replied cautiously, uncertain of what the future would bring. “But I have questions, and I won’t disappear until I ask them.”

Hyunjin smiled gently, which brightened the atmosphere. “Do you want something to drink? Maybe we can try to figure this out together.”

I took a deep breath, feeling the tension slowly dissolve. I couldn’t wait for him to explain everything to me.

I sat on the couch, cuddled up to Hyunjin, feeling his warmth next to me. His story about the tattoo was slowly settling in my mind, but I still had some doubts. Talking to him was refreshing, like a breath of fresh air after a long time feeling trapped in the thicket of my own thoughts.

Hyunjin looked at me with clear concern in his eyes. “Felix, I’m really sorry for what happened,” he said, his voice trembling slightly. “I didn’t want you to feel bad. I know I was avoiding you, but I had my reasons.”

I thought for a moment whether I should respond. In the end, I gathered my courage. “I thought for a while that something was wrong between us. And now…” I paused, catching my breath. “Now I feel that we’re in a better place.”

Hyunjin smiled, but it quickly faded as a shadow of sadness crossed his face. “I didn’t want to hurt you. I really thought it was just a coincidence. Everyone has their secrets, but I didn’t want you to think that I was hiding something from you.”

I looked him in the eyes, and in my heart, I felt that his sincerity was starting to calm me. “I understand, Hyunjin. I’m sorry for getting so worked up. I guess it was all too overwhelming for me.”

“You don’t have to apologize,” he replied. “We all have the right to feel the way we feel. I should have understood better what you were going through.”

Silence fell for a moment, but it wasn’t an awkward silence. We both knew we needed to find a way to understand each other better.

Hyunjin hugged me again, and I closed my eyes, savoring the moment. “I promise I’ll be more open if you trust me too,” he said.

I nodded, feeling the tension slowly fade away. “I promise. Together, we can overcome everything.”

“Yes,” he replied, smiling genuinely. “And now, how about a movie? Maybe something that will help us forget all this mess?”

“Sure,” I agreed, and in my heart, I felt a light joy. I felt that with each passing day, our relationship was growing stronger, and what was supposed to be an obstacle had become a bridge that connected us.

I switched the TV to our favorite movie, and Hyunjin wrapped me in his presence. At that moment, nothing else mattered but the fact that we were together again, and the future seemed brighter.

I sat on the couch next to Hyunjin, feeling how his presence made my heart race. The movie was playing in the background, but I couldn’t focus on it. His hand gently stroked my head, and I felt a mix of joy and unease in my emotions.

Suddenly, Jisung walked into the house. He looked at us with feigned displeasure.

“Oh, I see you decided to remind me of my singleness again,” he said, and Hyunjin just smiled, kissing me softly and tenderly on the lips.

“Of course,” Hyunjin replied, and I felt myself blush at the thought of what was happening between us.

Jisung, pretending to be resigned, said, “Please, don’t torment me any further.”

We laughed, but in my heart, unease still lingered. I knew that what had happened in the bar still hadn’t been resolved, and I was avoiding talking about it.

At that moment, Seungmin burst into the apartment, calling for help.

“Guys! I need you!” he shouted, and I looked at Hyunjin.

We all fell silent, waiting for Seungmin to explain, and the tension in the air began to rise again.
