Felix pov.
I was sitting at my school desk, trying to focus on my notes, but my thoughts kept drifting back to our recent argument with Jisung. I expected that after everything, he would just stop talking to me, maybe even sit somewhere else. But I didn’t expect him to be completely absent from school today.

It wasn’t like him. Jisung always showed up for class, even when we had some disagreements. I tried to convince myself that it was nothing serious, that maybe he was just having a bad day, but something inside me wouldn’t let it go.

I glanced at the clock, but time seemed to have stopped. The silence around me was overwhelming. Usually, Jisung would be sitting next to me, chattering about everything and nothing, and now... nothing. I couldn’t concentrate.

“Maybe I should check on him...” I said quietly to myself. I couldn’t just leave it like that.

During the break, I approached the teacher and mumbled something about feeling unwell. She probably didn’t buy it because she looked at me like I was trying to dodge class, but she eventually let me go home. The truth was, I wasn’t going home; I headed straight to Jisung’s place.

I didn’t know what was going on. Why wasn’t he there? Had he really gotten mad? I felt a weight of guilt, but I had to apologize to him. When I arrived at his house, I felt a slight tension, wondering how he would react when he saw me at the doorstep.

I knocked softly, and when the door opened, Jisung stood before me, surprised to see me. “Felix? What are you doing here?”

“I came to apologize,” I replied, trying not to sound too tense. “I know I shouldn’t have accused you. I just... panicked, and, well... I got a little carried away.”

Jisung looked at me, shrugging. “Don’t worry about it. It’s nothing. I just felt unwell this morning, so I stayed home.”

He sounded calm, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. I didn’t push the subject further. “Maybe...” I started, thinking of a way to lighten the mood, “we could go for a walk? Talk a bit, get away from all this?”

Jisung finally smiled softly. “Why not? A little fresh air will do me good.”

I breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe not everything was resolved yet, but I knew that this walk was a good step towards mending what had begun to break between us.

The sun shone brightly as Jisung and I walked. Although I was worried about him missing school, I was glad to spend time with him alone.

“You know, Jisung,” I began, feeling that it was the right moment to apologize for our argument, “I wanted to apologize for what happened. I shouldn’t have doubted you.”

Jisung looked at me, and in his eyes, I saw relief.

“It’s okay, Felix. We’re all stressed out. I just... felt unwell, and I had to stay home.” He smiled lightly. “But walking with you really helps. Besides, I overreacted too.”

At that moment, we noticed Seungmin and Jeongin walking toward us. They looked relaxed, which was surprising considering they had classes.

“What are you guys doing here?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

“We got bored, so we ditched class,” Seungmin replied with a grin.

“Yeah, and we thought we’d join you for a walk,” Jeongin added, eyeing us curiously. “What are you guys up to?”

“Jisung was feeling a bit off, so we decided to get some fresh air,” I explained.

“Then we’re coming with you!” Seungmin enthusiastically reached out to Jisung. “Come on, it’ll be more fun with all four of us.”

And so, we set off on our walk together, chatting about everything and nothing. I felt that despite the difficulties surrounding us, we had each other, and that was the most important thing.

We walked along the park, discussing what to do over the upcoming weekend. The fresh air invigorated our senses, and the sun’s rays filtered through the leaves of the trees.

“It’s actually nice that we all skipped class,” Seungmin noted, looking around. “Days like this should happen more often.”

Suddenly, Jisung, walking ahead, stopped dead in his tracks, staring at something on the ground. I stepped closer, and the guys followed behind us.

“Jisung, what happened?” I asked, concerned by the sudden silence.

Jisung pointed at something lying in the grass. My heart raced as I noticed that it wasn’t an ordinary object. I squinted, trying to make out the details.

“It... it can’t be,” Jeongin whispered, his voice trembling.

As we approached, horror washed over us as we saw a body lying on the ground. It was a boy, his face pale, and his eyes closed. I felt my stomach drop.

“What did we do?” Jisung said, stepping back a pace.

“We need to call the police,” Seungmin stated, pulling out his phone. But at the moment he tried to dial, the sound of our conversation drew attention.

I froze. I felt the blood drain from my face. I didn’t know what to do. Just moments ago, we were laughing and planning our weekend. Now we stood over a dead body, and a million questions raced through our minds.

“We need to get out of here before someone sees us,” I said, terrified at the thought of the consequences.

“But we can’t just leave!” Jisung replied, confused. “We have to do something!”

“Do you think this has anything to do with what’s happening in the city?” Jeongin asked, looking at the rest of us anxiously.

We glanced at each other, and in our eyes was something we hadn’t seen before. Fear, uncertainty, and a sudden realization that what had just happened could change everything.
