Y/n's POV:

It was the day of Y/n's first day of Hogwarts and Ghost was sat on top of all her luggage as she dragged it on the trolly towards the train. Draco was beside her, not even looking or glancing at her with a scowl on his face. Y/n knew he hated her because of her being a constant reminder of the opinion and view his Father had on him.
But also because he knew he didn't need protection, but he knows better than to defy the command of his Father.

Y/n ignored the whispers off the other students as she walked past, since it was clear she was a fae with her pointy ears and unnatural coloured eyes.
However she stayed close to Draco, since he's the only person she knew at this point.
When he noticed Y/n getting closer to shield herself from their whispers, he scoffed in disgust,
" I don't want you anywhere near me when we get there. If I need your help, which I don't, then I'll ask for it. You're embarrassing to have around,"
He spat before walking down the train, far away from Y/n.

Y/n ignored the sharp pain she felt from his insult and words, her brows furrowing before going into an empty space and sitting down beside the window. Ghost snuggled on her lap cutely, his large tail wrapping around him as he slept. Y/n smiled, gently stroking his fluffy fur as she stared out the window of the train station.

" No, Harry, you won't be having any more of my chocolates!" Y/n turned her head to the trio that opened the doors to sit down, but stopped when they saw Y/n sat there looking at them. She expected them to quickly apologise out of fear and walk away, but they did the exact opposite.

Hermione asked kindly, " Do you mind if we sit here? All the spaces are empty," Y/n's heart filled with excitement that they wasn't afraid of her and nodded, moving all her stuff from the seats for them to sit down. They thanked her, sitting beside her like Y/n was just as ordinary as them.

Ron looked at Y/n, now that they were sat beside each other and he could see her features more, his eyes widened in shock and awe, " Bloody hell, the fae as attractive as they say," Y/n thanked him, her cheeks warming up from embarrassment as Hermione kicked him in the leg to shut him up from him being rude.

Harry had to agree but didn't say anything, not wanting to be disrespectful or wanting to make her uncomfortable. He asked curiously, his deep brown eyes staring into her two different coloured ones, " What's a Fae doing here at Hogwarts? If you don't mind me asking,"

Y/n sent him a kind smile, " It's okay to ask. I served the Malfoy family. I'm here to protect Draco from harm," After responding, a hint of pain was seen within her gaze. She missed her home. Her family. Her friends. But she had no choice but to serve them, otherwise she may never return at all. They seemed to take notice of this.

" Why's that? They're a horrible family," Ron asked, his expression darkening from the mention of the wicked Slytherin family. These three know well enough for being in the same year as Draco Malfoy, their worst nemesis in Hogwarts. Y/n stayed silent for a few moments, her fist clenching above where her heart was underneath her school robe.

Hermione rolled her eyes, " Are you stupid? They clearly have her life source," Ron and Harry were confused, clearly not aware of the backstory of the Fae since Hermione had to explain - as usual.
Harry's eyes widened a little before turning back to Y/n, his gaze sympathetic, " So you're being forced against your own will?" He asked, disgust laced within his tone. Y/n nodded, her smile fading as she looked back out the window.

" Just when I thought I couldn't hate the Malfoy's more," Ron commented, glaring at the floor for a few moments. Harry offered, smiling, " Why don't you hang around with us from now on? We'll show you around Hogwarts," Y/n returned the smile and thanked him, her heart warming that she was already making friends, in which she did not expect.

When the train arrived, the three of you had to go on a canoe across the river to reach the building. It was as big as the Fae say it is. With multiple, different shaped and height buildings and multiple windows. Y/n had to admit, seeing the building made her feel excited to join for the first time. She may be the first in years that her kind joined a witchcraft and wizardry school.

When she was sat on the Gryffindor table with Ron, Hermione and Harry. She could feel an intense stare that felt like were burning holes in the side of her head. Y/n looked up from talking to Hermione to meet the gaze of Draco. He glared at her, clearly not impressed by something, sending shivers down her spine. Sometimes she forgot how intimidating this family's stares can be. Y/n quickly looked away, not liking the stare of hatred as Dumbledore silenced the room.
