Y/n's POV:

Y/n had to put her name in the fire secretly when no one was in the room to make sure Draco didn't find out until the very last day when the Goblet of Fire would chose those who had placed their name in. Due to the tragic death of Cedric Diggory a few years ago, the schools decided that only one student from each school would participate.

A few days later, everyone was sat in the great Hall, listening to Dumbledore talk about the trials and the rules. It was the same every year.
Then the room went dark, the only thing chasing away the darkness was the blue fire that emitted from the goblet off fire. After a few seconds, a name was thrown out of the fire and landed in Dumbledore's grasp. Only one student from Hogwarts, who will be representing the school will be chosen.

Y/n glanced at Draco, noticing how he was fidgeting with his hands nervously, his gaze never leaving Dumbledore. She felt so bad for him.

Then a name was called out,
" Y/n!"

Y/n let out a sigh of relief as everyone cheered for her, ignoring the shocked and worried looks from her friends. She didn't tell them that she put her name in the Goblet of Fire, because in honesty, there's no reason for her too. She's not a witch or a wizard, but she did it for Draco's sake.

Draco on the other hand was the most shocked, but his heart sank when her name was called.
His Father had told him he didn't have to put his name in the Goblet of Fire, but still, he knew he was up to something. And here he was, staring at the woman who he was falling more for almost everyday. She couldn't have put her name in for his sake, right? She couldn't care for him that much?

Y/n was suddenly dragged into an empty room, seriously, she was getting annoyed at him constantly doing this. When the door was closed Draco towered over her with his hand beside her head to stop her from going anywhere. Her heart felt like it was going to break out of her ribcage at any moment from how fast it was beating.

" What did you do? " He asked, but this was the first time he didn't look angry at her, in fact, he looked angry for himself. Y/n gulped nervously, trying to ignore the beating of her heart, worried that if he got any closer he'd be able to hear it.
" I put my name in the Goblet of Fire so you didn't get picked," Y/n admitted, a small red/dark blush on her cheeks.

" You did that for me?" Draco asked, stepping back from shock. Y/n nodded, looking down at the floor, to flustered to make eye contact with him. The beating off her heart was all she could feel and hear, along with the intense feeling of butterflies in her stomach. " I knew you were scared, and I didn't want you to die, so I put mine in instead,"

Y/n felt his hand on her chin, forcing her gently to look up at him so they could make direct eye contact. His gaze was locked into hers, sending waves of shivers down her spine. He traced her bottom lip with his thumb gently as he stared at them for a split second. Their bodies were only centimetres apart and Y/n could smell the strong scent of his cologne from him.
" What are you doing to me?" Draco asked, whispering a little as if he was talking to himself, but Y/n heard it loud and clear.

Draco leaned in, which almost made her stop breathing. Their lips were about to touch before the wooden door to the room they were in was open. Hermione stood at the doorway in pure shock, her mouth was parted a little and the colour drained from her face. " Y/n?" She asked through a breath, her brown eyes darting from
Y/n to Draco, " What is the meaning of this?"
Hermione snapped, crossing her arms with a scowl.

Y/n yelled her name, instantly pulling away from Draco and chasing after her down the hall, pleading her to talk to her. " Hermione, please just stop and let me explain!" Hermione soon stopped and glared at her, " You're with Harry! And he will -,"
Y/n boasted, interrupting her, " I don't like Harry!"

Hermione's eyes widened in shock and paused, her brows furrowing a little in confusion and shock, " What? What do you mean?" She asked, her temper slowly calming down. Y/n let out a frustrated sigh, paused for a moment then explained her feelings, about how she realised she had no feelings for Harry. Hermione listened but was still trying to process the information.

" It's fine if you don't like him, but he likes you.
If you don't tell him the truth, then I will,"
Hermione stated calmly before walking away, leaving Y/n alone in her own thoughts in
silence.
