Y/n's POV:

" I should have known a Fae would come here at some point. I just didn't expect it to be so soon,"
Faera sat at her desk, sighing heavily, looking at Y/n's chained form. Her hands were tied behind her back, the chains were so tight on her that if she walked further away from the wall, it would surely squeeze her limbs tightly enough to form a bruise.

Y/n spoke, her voice shaky from heavy emotion, she ignored the burning in her throat from trying to conceal sobs,
" I-I don't understand, why would you betray us? "

Faera slammed her cup on the table from the question and stood up, walking towards Y/n and leaning against the chair a few feet away from her. She rolled her eyes, no doubt that she hated the fae. " They made me who I am today. A crazy, rage filled person who wants revenge,"

Y/n didn't glare at her or even show any kind of malice. She felt so familiar and looked familiar but she couldn't place where or why. Y/n didn't need to ask the next question because her expression asked, in which Faera read instantly and responded.
" You want to know that badly, huh? Well since you're going to die soon, I may as well tell you the whole truth",
Y/n refrained from letting her limbs shake from fear, knowing that right now in this moment, it could be the end for her. But she refused to give up so easily, so she watched Faera's every move.
Also curious to what she meant and what her true intentions are.

" Have you not noticed how alike we are on appearance? Everyone did say I looked a lot like Mother, just like you," She chuckled, a grin spread across her features from Y/n's reaction.
Her body didn't respond, her body feeling a rush of adrenaline course through her veins. Her head tried to process the information, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't. She could barely get words out, her face growing pale.
" What?" Y/n asked through a heavy breath. It was the only word that she managed to slip out.

Faera laughed hysterically, tears forming in her eyes from how hard she was laughing,
" You're hilarious! I feel quite offended you didn't feel a little bit of familiarity between us, maybe you did but didn't admit it," She shrugged, stopping from laughing and took a sip of her wine glass that contained pure, red wine.
" I'm your older sister, I was born a year before you. But of course, since I was the family disappointment, they never told you what Mother and Father did to me",

Y/n stayed silent, who was now sat on the floor from her knees giving in underneath her from the amount of shock and betrayal she was feeling.
She felt anger towards her parents for keeping this from her all her life. All she wanted was someone to look up to that wasn't her parents.
And she had an older sister all this time.
That also makes Faera a rival to the throne considering she's first born.

" I know what you're thinking. You're worried about the throne, but honestly, I don't give two shits about it. All I want is revenge. Revenge for causing me all this pain and suffering," Faera's psychotic behaviour completely disappeared, showing her true side. A broken soul. Her eyes showed nothing but emotional pain that felt like they were digging holes into Y/n's. The expression on her face truly made Y/n's heart break.

" Because I had no elemental ability like all fae's possess, they considered me unworthy for the throne and to be in the family. The Kingdom hated on me, called me a freak, some even made rumours that I wasn't a full fae and half human.
So they banished me. Kicked me out of the house like I meant nothing. I was 12 years old," she paused for a moment, quickly wiping a tear that escaped and ran down her cheek.

" To make things worse, You was 11 when it happened and saw everything. So they wiped your memory with a witches wand, making you forget all about me and they made you believe you were firstborn,"
Faera finally looked up at her, their eyes locking.

Y/n felt so much pain from betrayal it pained her heart physically. Her heart felt as if it had dropped into her stomach, creating a large pit of nerves that made her feel nauseous. All this time they've been happy at Y/n's achievements in life and how great of a person she's becoming, but in the shadows was where Faera stood. Being looked upon like she was meant nothing, which was the reason why she was here today.

" I-I'm so sorry, I didn't know. I didn't know they would do something like that," Y/n finally responded, her throat dry from shock filling her to the core. Faera scoffed, crossing her arms,
" Which is why I want revenge. They don't know what it's like to lose everything you've ever known and loved, so I'll be taking what they care for most in the world. Their kingdom,"
Faera boasted through a sadistic smirk, her drive for revenge was stronger than anything Y/n has seen before. It made her realise how much of a threat her sister truly was.

" I've changed my mind. I'll think I'll keep you alive. I want you to watch as your kingdom burns and our parents plead for mercy," She chuckled and soon walked out her office, locking the door behind her. Y/n began to sob into her knees that were leant up against her chest. All her emotions pouring into one simple action.

Why? Why would her parents do such a thing?
