Although at first Mary felt rather awkward whenever she was in Severus' room, after the first-hand tension subsided, Mary started to feel more at home. More peaceful. Severus had guided her to sit down on the red sofa at right side of his room, the place where they often sat whenever Mary was visiting him. He then walked to his cupboard and pulled out two glasses and what it seemed to be a bottle of Firewhisky.

"Are you thirsty?" he asked, lifting the bottle in his hand so that Mary could see it properly.

A slight blush on her face, Mary nodded.

Silently, Severus placed the glasses on his desk and poured the velvety liquid in them. He then took the glasses in his hands and handed the other one to Mary.

"Thanks", Mary mumbled and took a polite sip from the glass, feeling the strong flavour tickle her throat.

After a moment of sitting in silence, Severus cleared his throat.

"So, I don't mean to send you a wrong message", he began, shifting his position next to Mary, "but what do I owe this sudden visit?"

Mary looked at him and blushed, unsure of how to respond.

"I- Um... I guess I...", Mary stuttered, trying to collect her thoughts. Before Mary managed to form a proper answer, an understanding yet teasing smile formed on Severus' lips as he took a sip from his glass.

"You can say you missed me", he teased and gave Mary's cheek a gentle stroke with his thumb. Mary blushed even harder, her breathing getting heavier as drowned her face in the glass of Firewhisky.

The way Alison had hinted that something might happen whilst Mary was visiting Severus made her mind swirl. Although Severus had made it vary clear that he doesn't want to pressure Mary into anything she isn't ready for, there was something about the way in which Alison had looked at her earlier. Something Mary still couldn't quite grasp.

"Something wrong?" Severus asked, noticing that Mary was quieter than usual. Mary lifted her gaze back to his eyes, which were now showing a hint of concern as he studied Mary's shifting expression. Trying to hide her embarrassment, Mary poured herself another glass of Firewhisky and downed it in one go. Severus eyed Mary's actions with a curious yet complicated look in his onyx eyes, wondering what was going on inside Mary's head.

"Maybe you should slow down with that?" Severus suggested as he watched Mary pour herself a third glass of Firewhisky. Then, as quickly as she had emptied the second glass, she poured the liquid down her throat.

Severus' eyes widened.

Suddenly, Mary leaned in and placed her lips on Severus'. Surprised, Severus slightly backed away, searching for Mary eyes.

"Mary", he whispered, a confused frown on his face. "Do we need to talk about something?"

Mary sighed, leaning back on the sofa.

"I don't know", she admitted, raising an eyebrow as an attempt to hide her embarrassment. Severus shifted his position again, noticing the troubled look on Mary's face.

"I- Ehm..." Mary began, a hot red climbing up her cheeks. "Remember when you said that... That we don't have to... Um..."

There was no need for Mary to finish her sentence; way she blushed and stuttered told everything to Severus. He understood.

"Ah, I see", Severus nodded, a considering look in his dark eyes as he rested his elbows against his knees. For a while, they sat in silence, avoiding each other's eyes.

"So...", Severus cleared his throat, took the glass in his hand and placed it against his lips, taking a big gulp from it. Mary sighed as she turned her eyes to Severus and forced a smile.

"Do you wanna do it?"

Severus nearly choked on his drink when he heard Mary's words. Mary couldn't help but let a small giggle escape her lips as she watched the man struggle with his words in front of him.

"You mean...?"

Severus grunted slightly, clearly trying to take in what Mary had just said, before finishing his sentence.

"Do you mean now?"

Another, slightly drunken giggle runs out of Mary's mouth as she leaned towards Severus, placing a small kiss on his jaw.

"Mary", he muttered, turning his face towards Mary, "you're drunk."

"I know", Mary whispered and continued kissing Severus' jaw and neck. The way Mary's touch made Severus feel made it painfully difficult for Severus to pull away and stop Mary.

"Darling", Severus murmured, this time taking a more serious tone. A kind of tone which made Mary, too, realise to back off. Severus took a gentle yet firm grip on Mary's shoulders as he locked his dark eyes with Mary's, trying to understand what the young woman in front of her was aiming for.

"Are you serious?" Severus asked, a concerned frown on his face. Mary blinked, trying to form a proper answer. Then, she nodded.

"Yes, I am."

Severus sighed deeply and released Mary from his hold as he brushed his face with his hand. For a while, he remained quiet, clearly battling with something in his mind. Then, he turned his gaze back to Mary and nodded.

"Alright", he said.

Mary stared at him, clearly not expecting an agreeing response.

"If you mean it", Severus added, tilting his head slightly as he studied Mary's expression.

"I do."

"Alright then", Severus repeated his words. "But not tonight."

Mary frowned slightly when she heard Severus' words.

"You're intoxicated. That won't do", he explained and leaned his back against the couch. With a deep sigh, he finished his sentence.

"If you really want to do it, come here on Friday at eight", he announced.

Mary's blood ran cold when she realized what was happening. Severus had agreed. He would do it with her. This Friday.

Fuck.

Slowly, Mary nodded, her eyes never leaving Severus'.

"Oh, and one more thing", Severus added, his voice deadly serious.

"You better be sober. I won't do anything with you if you're intoxicated."
