But worry not if you don't have company for tonight, for I have prepared you a knight in shining armour for this evening. So, if you need a little comfort tonight, stay tuned my loves...

Have a lovely day,
Lulu

It was a Thursday morning, February 13th and Mary, Clary and Alison were making their way up the stairs towards the Great Hall. The three of them had barely gotten any sleep the night before, as each of them had been babbling about the upcoming Friday. Valentine's Day.

Clary, who was most excited about that day, would wonder about the amazing things she would do with Alison on that day, hinting now and then what she had gotten for Alison as a gift. Alison would make sly remarks now and then, stating that her gift would blow Clary's mind. But Mary, who had nearly forgotten the whole existence of that holiday, was struggling. She had no idea what she was gonna give to Severus. She didn't even know if Severus what a kind of a man who celebrates such a day.

"So, Mary, you were awfully quiet last night", Alison pointed out as she matched her pace with Mary's, eyeing the woman with a hint of concern lingering the corner of midnight-blue eyes. "Everything alright between you and Snape?"

Mary gave Alison a quick, reassuring smile and nodded, a slightest hint of red climbing up her cheeks as she admitted that she had no idea what to give to Severus for Valentine's.

"I don't even know if he's gonna celebrate it", Mary added, her voice a quiet, uncertain whisper. Alison raised her eyebrows, her movement slight but noticeable.

"Oh...", she spoke in a hushed voice. "I didn't even think about that. But you're right... Snape doesn't seem like the first man to be impatiently waiting for Valentine's Day."

Mary muttered a silent agreement as she pushed open the door to the Great Hall, her eyes automatically landing on the High Table and the dark-haired man sitting amongst the other teachers.

As Mary, Alison and Clary stepped inside the Great Hall, Severus' eyes snapped towards them, locking on to Mary. Mary tried to give him a small, subtle smile, but failed miserably as her lips spread into an embarrassed grin. Severus, who had noticed Mary's failed attempt of playing cool, jerked slightly in amusement before turning his attention back to McGonagall.

"Very smooth", Alison muttered as she walked past Mary, a teasing glint in her deep blue eyes. Mary pursed her lips, her cheeks burning with embarrassment.

As Mary, Clary and Alison were seated by the table, each of them began gathering things on their plates, preparing their usual breakfast. But Mary couldn't help her eyes wondering back to Severus every now and then, trying to delve into his mind and determine whether or not he wanted to celebrate Valentine's Day with her. But to Mary's fortune, she didn't have to ponder on that question too long.

A loud thud pulled her out of her thoughts as Quill landed on the table, a letter attached to its leg. Mary blinked as she recognized the handwriting, quickly glancing at Severus who was now carefully following Mary's movements.

Hesitantly, Mary took the envelope from Quill's leg and ripped it open. She unfolded the letter she had taken from the envelope, her eyes quickly swiping over the thin, ornate handwriting she now found very familiar.

My dearest Mary,

I am writing to you as a proposal to spend the upcoming Friday with me. I am aware of my reputation, and that is perhaps the reason why you haven't brought up Valentine's Day with me. But I assure you, I more than gratefully would like to spend that day with you.
