The rest of the Easter Break rolled on peacefully. Clary, who had somehow managed to charm Uncle Theodore, spent hours and hours speaking Quidditch and everything related to it, flying or broom caretaking. They would speak of the most significant Quidditch games played both at Hogwarts and around the world, like the Quidditch World Cups. They would speak of different broom models, how they worked and which of them were the best for playing Quidditch.
"I am getting jealous, you know?" Alison had muttered one evening, as Clary had spent yet another hour of comparing different moves used on the Quidditch field. The blonde girl had merely rolled her eyes and smirked at her girlfriend, telling her that she was being overly dramatic.
But on the Sunday, 19th of April, it came time for them to leave. Clary spent a rather long time wishing her farewells to Uncle Theodore, which only more irritated Alison. Mary, too, had spent unusually long time chatting with Theo on the platform before the Hogwarts Express had whistled, signalling that is was time to board the train.
"Well, I shall see you in the summer", Uncle Theo had muttered as he had pulled away from the hug, giving Alison a sharp nod as their eyes met. "And Clarissa", he added, turning his brown eyes to Clary, who was standing next to Alison, "you are more than welcome to the Montgomery Mansion whenever you wish", he said. Clary's eyes sparkled, though Alison's lips pursed in annoyance.
"You as well, Alison", Theo added, a hint of amusement gleaming in the corner of his eyes when he noticed Alison's irritation.

"So, how was your holiday in the Mighty Manor of the Montgomerie's?" asked Fred Weasley as Mary, Clary and Alison sat by the Slytherin table on Monday morning, preparing themselves for the upcoming day.
"Oi, Weasley", Marcus Flint interrupted from his seat, "this is the Slytherin table. Start walking."
Mary glared at Flint, who rolled his eyes in annoyance, but didn't dare to pick on a fight with an elder student.
"So?" Fred continued, ignoring Flint who was still glancing at him from the other end of the table.
"Well, it was interesting", Clary started, but didn't manage to finish her sentence before Alison spoke over her.
"For you, at least", Alison remarked, getting a confused reaction from Fred. "Clary found a boyfriend."
Fred's eyes widened as he looked at Alison. Then, he leaned closer to Mary, who was sitting next to him.
"What exactly has happened?" he whispered to Mary's ear, sensing a storm brewing between Clary and Alison. Mary sighed deeply, shaking her head as she watched Clary and Alison argue about Clary spending too much time with Mary's uncle during their stay at Mary's uncle's house.
"When we're at school, I spend every day with you!" Clary defended herself, her voice slightly raising. "I am allowed to spend time with Mary's uncle, who, mind you, we barely never see!"
Alison snorted but decided not to continue the argument.
The silence feel between the two young women, Fred and Mary eyeing them, a hint of concern lingering in their eyes.
"Isn't your uncle like ancient?" Fred muttered in a hushed voice, trying to comprehend what had happened during the Easter Break.
"He will turn 44 in next March", Mary replied, receiving a glance, filled with a mixture of amusement and confusion, from Fred.
"Wow, quite an, erm... Quite an age gap", he murmured silently. Mary merely shook her head, letting out a deep breath she hadn't realised she had been holding.
"And mind you, Clary is fifteen!" Fred added, getting a horrified glance from a fellow Slytherin, who had been eavesdropping on their conversation.
"Mhmm, I know", Mary muttered, her tone signalling to Fred that the conversation was finished.

"So, how was your holiday, my love?" Severus murmured as Mary was seated next to him on the red sofa of his personal chambers. For the entire day, Mary had been trying her best to concentrate on her lessons, ignoring the growing need in her heart, a need to see Severus.
"Mhmm.... It was alright, mostly", Mary responded, turning her face towards Severus, allowing him to place a gentle kiss on her forehead. But when he heard Mary's response, he pulled away slightly.
"Mostly?" he muttered, a glint of concern in her dark, onyx eyes. Mary gave him a reassuring smile, taking his hand in hers and drawing small circles on the back of his hand.
"Yeah, Clary got along quite well with my uncle..." Mary started, pulling her eyes away from Severus'. "I bit too well, in Alison's opinion."
Severus brows lift in surprise.
"Isn't your uncle like 40?" he asked, an amused purr in his voice as he imagined Alison and Clary arguing about Clary having a relationship with Mary's uncle. Mary sighed deeply, giving Severus an "I know right" look as she rested her head against his shoulder.
"Honestly, I don't understand why Alison reacted this greatly on Clary hanging out with Theo... I mean, she has never been the jealous type", Mary muttered as she played with the buttons on Severus' sleeve. "She knew Clary had feeling for me for quite a while after they started dating but that never seemed to be an issue."
"Mhmm", Severus hummed silently, leaning his head against the top of Mary's head.
For a good while, Mary and Severus stayed like that. Laying in comfortable silence, only the silent sound of their breath lingering in the air as they rested against each other, Mary still nibbling Severus' buttons as Severus eyed her actions an amused glint in his dark eyes. After a while, however, Mary yawned and stretched her hands in the air, Severus shifting slightly next to her.
"Oh man I'm tired", Mary mumbled through her yawn, rubbing her eyes she prepared to stand up. But before she managed to do so, Severus slid his hands around her waist, pulling her flush against his chest.
"Must you leave?" he murmured into her ear as he nuzzled his face against the back of Mary's neck. Mary giggled silently as he allowed Severus a moment of respite. But then, she really had to start to get going.
"I'm sorry, Sev." Mary gave him a small smile as she stood up, eyeing the raven-haired man pouting on the red sofa. "I must go and ensure that Clary and Alison don't strangle each other."
Severus groaned dramatically and sloughed against the sofa.
"Fine", he murmured, though the look in his eyes told Mary that he was more than "not fine" with the idea of Mary leaving.
"I'll see you tomorrow."
Severus gave Mary a defeated nod, though he couldn't help a small smile climbing up his lips as Mary leaned down for a one last kiss before waving him a goodnight and stepping out of the room.
