A/N: Hi! Today's chapter is slightly shorter, sorry about that. My epilepsy is being a total bitch so it's difficult to focus for long periods at a time. Hopefully my brain will start function normally soon so I can continue publishing normally.
Have a good day,
Lulu
After the eventful night in Severus' room, both Mary and Severus had fallen asleep, silently whispering about their lives and dreams as they drifted off to sleep. The next morning, when Mary woke up, Severus was already awake. He was resting his back against the bed end, a book spread on his lap.
For a moment, Mary simply looked at Severus. He seemed so peaceful, so unbothered by everything. Then his eyes flickered towards Mary, and he noticed that Mary was awake.
"Good morning", Severus murmured, his voice low and raspy. Mary blushed, a small smile spreading across her face as she giggled a silent "good morning" to Severus.
Severus chuckled lightly and placed the book on the nightstand before turning his attention back towards Mary.
"How did you sleep?" Severus muttered as he shifted on the bed, wrapping his arms around Mary as she snuggled against his chest.
"Good", Mary mumbled as she rested her head against Severus' chest. "Really good."
Severus chuckled lightly and allowed his fingers run through Mary's untamed, dark brown hair.
For a moment, they stayed like that, enjoying the quiet moment in each other's company. But after a while, Severus would slightly shift his position and grab his shirt from the ground. Mary would follow Severus' movement and start to gather her own things from around the room.
After about ten minutes, both Mary and Severus were both fully dressed.
"Well, I... Um", Mary started, eyeing the exit nervously. "I think I should leave the room before you do. You know, so no one doesn't suspect anything."
Severus smirked and took a couple of steps towards Mary, pulling her in his arms.
"What? Are you ashamed of me?" Severus chuckled.
"Wha- No!" Mary started but was interrupted by Severus' roaring laughter.
"I'm kidding, my darling", Severus muttered and leaned in, placing a small, affectionate kiss on Mary's forehead. Mary blushed deeply as she grabbed the rest of her belongings and sprinted out of the room.

The rest of the day would go rather nicely. Although Severus had pointed out that now that Mary's Slytherin comrades were spending the holidays elsewhere, Mary could spend more time with him, Mary knew she had to spend some time with Fred and George as well. And so, Mary spent most of her day either by playing in the snow with the Weasleys and Harry Potter or hanging out inside.
"Do you wanna play chess?" Ron suggested, eyeing Mary with a challenging glint in his eyes. As Mary was about to respond, George's mouth would appear over her shoulder.
"Don't do it", he whispered. Mary frowned and turned towards the redheaded boy.
"Why?"
"He'll end you", Fred stated, nodding towards his younger brother. Now Ron seemed rather annoyed and less tempted to beat Mary in a game of chess.
"Right", Mary muttered, a small hint of a smirk tugging in the corner of her lips.
"You guys ruin all the fun", Ron groaned at her brothers. Fred and George tried to play innocent, but the devilish grin on their identical faces revealed their true intention.
"Whatever, Ron", George sighed. "Didn't you have that book to find, anyway?"
Ron and Harry eyed each other, a knowing look on their faces.
"What book?" Mary asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Something about a guy called "'Nicholas Flamel'", Fred explained, rolling his eyes and mouthing the word 'nerd' as he pointed towards his younger brother and Harry. Mary giggled lightly but didn't join the Weasley twins in their teasing.

After spending the day with the Weasleys and Harry, Mary would finally join them and the rest of the school in the Great Hall for dinner. And in that hall, Mary saw Severus, as unbothered as ever.
During the dinner, Mary would eye Severus multiple times, trying to decide whether or not the bat-like man wanted Mary to join him in his personal chambers after the dinner.
"What are you doing?" George Weasley hissed to Mary's ear, pointing Severus with his fork. Mary flinched as she felt George's breath touching her ear.
"Nothing", Mary muttered annoyingly and turned her attention back towards her plate. George would exchange a look with his brother, but they decided to leave Mary alone. For now.

The lights flickered on the walls of the corridors as Mary made her way towards the Slytherin common room, her stomach now filled with food. As Mary hummed silently, she suddenly felt a strange sensation, as if she was being watched. Mary stopped and eyed her surroundings, but didn't see anything. Just as she was about to continue her journey, however, something grabbed her from her waist and pressed her against the wall.
"Hey! What-", Mary yelped has her back hit against the wall, a slight panic rising in her chest. But as soon as she saw who was her captor, she released.
"Severus! You sly little..."
Before Mary could continue, she was stopped by the look in Severus' eyes. The dark, lustful look in those dark eyes as he leaned closer, his chest pressing against Mary's body.
"Well?" Severus murmured, a smirk tugging in the corner of his lips. "Please, do continue. Sly little what?"
Mary blushed vigorously, her ears burning with embarrassment as her eyes tried to find a spot in which she could focus on. A point that wasn't Severus' eyes or his lips.
Severus chuckled; his voice raspy as he leaned closer, tickling Mary's ear with his breath.
"You're so adorable when you get shy", he whispered. A shiver run through Mary's body. She could feel the heat rising between them. But to her surprise, Mary didn't mind it. Instead, she refocused her eyes on Severus' and allowed her hands wander to his back.
"Really?" Mary grinned, a newfound boldness in her tone. Severus, who was slightly surprised by the sudden change in Mary's demeanour, took a step back. But it didn't take long for Severus to regain his composure and continue teasing Mary.
"Well, well, Miss Montgomery", Severus purred, letting his hand slowly slide over Mary's body. "Are you talking back at me?"
Mary knew she was playing with fire, but she couldn't resist. A wide, playful grin on her face, Mary leaned towards Severus.
"Yes, in fact, I am", Mary said. "You see, that's how a conversation works, professor."
Severus eyes widened, a wild mixture of admiration and hungering spiraling in his dark onyx eyes. Then, a dangerous smirk found its way on Severus' lips as he grabbed Mary by her arm.
"You're coming with me", he murmured and without saying another word, he started to guide Mary towards his personal chambers.
