Happy Valentine's Day
Lulu
Amorenthia.
Mary stared at the old, decorative print on the page, her heat beating heavily in her chest. She drew one, shaky breath before nodding slowly, turning her dark green eyes to Severus. The man's eyes were fixated on Mary, a lingering smirk dancing in the corner of his lips.
"Something wrong, my love?" he asked, a teasing tone seeping through his low, velvety voice. A small smile rippled on her lips as a burning sensation climber up her cheeks.
"No", Mary mumbled, shaking her head as she removed her eyes from Severus' captivating gaze.
For anyone watching from the outside, it would've been obvious that Severus was messing with Mary. That he intently choose that potion just to see that reaction play on Mary's face, making her blush and squirm uncomfortably.
Severus said not another word. He merely grabbed the book from the desk and swept past Mary, heading towards a workstation where he had already gathered the ingredients needed in order to prepare the spoken brew.
Mary followed him slowly, her heart dancing heavily in her chest as she felt the tension grow in the room. And as she reached the workstation, Severus gave way for Mary to stand by the desk and examine the collection of ingredients spread on the surface.
"Well", Severus murmured, his presence suddenly much closer to Mary, causing shivers run through her body. "What do you think, my valentine? Shall we begin?"
Mary's breath caught in her throat as she felt Severus' breath brush against her ear. She placed her hands against the desk, grabbing it strongly as if it was the only thing anchoring her to place. Then, breathing unevenly, Mary nodded.
"Good", Severus said, his voice a low purr as he reached over Mary, taking the first ingredient in his slender hand.
And so, Mary and Severus started working on that dangerous, yet fascinating potion. They moved in perfect symbiosis, each of them knowing being one step ahead of the other, knowing exactly what the other one would be needing next. But as they worked on that potion, there would be moments. Lingering touches, brushing fingers and silently murmured words, whispering sweet nothings as their eyes would meet.
After working quietly for what it felt like simultaneously hours, yet only few minutes, Mary and Severus had finished their love potion. They stood next to each other, eyeing the pinkish brew floating in the cauldron. And then, just when the silence was about to turn from a comfortable victory to an uncomfortable awkwardness, Severus turned his eyes to Mary.
"Mary", he said, his voice a silent, breathy whisper. Mary turned to face the man next to her. Severus' eyes were burning with passion, his voice thick with emotion as he continued to speak, gently brushing his fingers against Mary's cheek.
"Oh how I love you."
Mary's heartbeat quickened when she heard Severus' words, unsure of how she should respond. But she didn't have to know, her body reacted before her mind could form another word.
"I love you too", Mary whispered, gently leaning against Severus' hand, which was now resting against her cheek. Hearing Mary's words seemed to have encouraged Severus to take the next step, for after another brief moment of silence, Severus leaned in and placed his lips gently on Mary's.
This time, Mary didn't hesitate. The moment the warmth of Severus' lips hit Mary's skin, she leaned in, slightly opening her mouth as she pressed deeper into the kiss. Severus, who had been slightly surprised Mary's sudden eagerness, gathered his composure rather quickly and answered Mary's passion with the same force.
