A/N: Hello, my little darlings! Just a quick warning: this chapter is NSFW, so keep that in mind before starting to read. This chapter is quite long as well, but it just might be worth it. I do you hope you enjoy this part, and if you did, please leave a like or a comment. I am keen on hearing if you want more content like this.

Have a good day,
Lulu

For a moment, Mary stood still in the Entrance Hall, contemplating her options. She could join others in the yard and enjoy a joyous day in the snow, or she could follow Severus in the dungeons. Of course, she could go to the dungeons and hide in her own room until the next evening, when the Christmas dinner was to take place. And knowing Mary, that's exactly what she did.

With swift yet silents steps, Mary descended the long and steep stairs down to the dungeons, eyeing behind every corner in case Severus had stayed behind to wait for Mary. But the raven-haired man was nowhere to be seen.

When Mary found the entrance to the Slytherin common room, Mary quickly breathed the password and stepped into the dimly lit space.

The room was empty, as most of Slytherins had gone home for Christmas. It was a relief to Mary. She wasn't feeling like spending time with others. She wanted space to think, maybe even to gather courage. She knew the holidays were a great opportunity to spend more time with Severus, and Mary most definitely wanted to spend more time with him, but Mary also knew what might come with that. What had almost happened before Dumbledore had interrupted them in mid-November.

Mary sloughed on a plush armchair before the crackling fireplace and inhaled deeply.

"Fuck..." Mary muttered as she exhaled. She let her eyes fall closed and leaned her head against the back of the chair, allowing the weariness take over her body. Only now Mary realised how tired she was, how tired she had been for a quite long while now. And before Mary could stop it, she slipped into the darkness.

"Hey," someone poked Mary's shoulder, his voice echoing in Mary's head like a drum. "You're Mary, right?"

Mary yawned and stretched slightly as she opened her eyes. Her mouth felt dry. She eyed her surroundings, her eyes unfocused. As her vision turned less blurry, Mary was able to locate the face of the person who had woken her. He was a dark-haired boy with crooked teeth. If Mary remembered correctly, his name was Marcus.

"Yeah, I am", Mary muttered and slightly shifted in the armchair in which she still was sitting. "What do you want?"

Marcus flinched slightly at the annoyed hint in Mary's voice and straightened up.

"Nothing. I was just wondering if you wanted to sleep through the whole holiday or if you wanted to join the rest of us at Christmas dinner."

Mary heart skipped a beat.

"What?"

Marcus snorted slightly as he placed his hands on his hips.

"You've been sleeping quite some time, you know?" Marcus informed.

Mary blinked her eyes and tilted her head. "How long?"

Marcus groaned and rolled his eyes, as if Mary's question was utterly idiotic.

"Like I said, the Christmas dinner is about to begin."

Mary realised that Marcus hadn't been joking by asking if Mary wanted to sleep through the entire holiday. Mary had really been sleeping in the armchair for... How long? Nearly couple of days.

"Shit", Mary muttered and jumped up, eyeing the clock on the wall. "I'll join you soon. I just have to... Well, freshen up."

Marcus eyed Mary's untamed hair and wrinkly clothes and nodded.
