_____
Sasuke had done it.
He sealed Salem.
But now, he was drifting in a dreamlike state, his body finally succumbing to exhaustion. The world around him was quiet and peaceful, starkly contrasting to the chaos he had just endured. In this stillness, a familiar presence appeared.
Hagoromo stood before him, watching with a warm, knowing smile. His eyes held a mixture of pride and understanding as if he had witnessed every step of Sasuke's arduous journey from the Vytal Festival to now.
"You've come a long way, Sasuke," Hagoromo said gently, his voice rich with wisdom. "You faced unimaginable challenges and emerged stronger for it."
Sasuke smiled faintly at Hagoromo, feeling the weight of countless battles begin to lift from his shoulders. The nightmare was the constant fighting, the relentless pursuit of power. At this moment, he felt a sense of peace he hadn't known in years. Looking into the eyes of the Sage of Six Paths, a realization dawned on him: the nightmare was gone, replaced by something new potential for hope, for a world worth dreaming of.
"Thank you, Hagoromo," Sasuke replied, his voice steady yet tinged with gratitude. "Your strength has guided me through this. I owe you more than I can express."
Hagoromo nodded, his expression softening. "It was your determination that brought you here. You fought not just for yourself, but for the future of all. That is a testament to your character."
Sasuke let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. For once, he allowed himself to imagine a future, a world without the looming threat of destruction. A world where maybe, just maybe, he could find peace.
"I can see it now," he said quietly, a flicker of hope igniting within him. "A life beyond this endless cycle of conflict. A chance to protect those I care about without the weight of constant fear."
Hagoromo's smile deepened, radiating warmth. "Embrace that vision, Sasuke. Your journey has just begun, and you have the power to shape a brighter tomorrow."
For once, Sasuke allowed himself to imagine a future, a world without the looming threat of destruction. A world where maybe, just maybe, he could find peace.
But as the serenity of the dream began to fade, Sasuke felt himself being pulled back to the conscious world. The peaceful images of a future he had only just begun to dream of started to blur, replaced by the familiar weight of his physical body.
His mind drifted away from the dream state, the warmth of Hagoromo's presence fading as reality rushed back in. The pain, the fatigue part of him ached as his consciousness returned to the devastated streets of Mantle.
