So, just a warning, I know I said the next chapter would be an original chapter, but I just couldn't find a place to make it fit in well (giggity) so I decided to do the arc first, and then the original chapter at the end.

Apologies. But anyway, on with the chapter :)

Darth Mordain sighed heavily. There had been an issue regarding the Banking clan as of late. The core five were accused of embezzlement, and corruption. Thanks to the efforts of Hugo, Mordain had come to find that these allegations were true, and since San Hill was essentially all but powerless, the Banking clan needed a new leader. As such, the brilliant manipulative mind of the Count had started whirring away, seeing how this problem could be beneficial to them. Because as he always said, "one man's trouble, is one man's advantage", this was why the CIS had all the advantages it had, because Mordain had been interfering with certain events and twisting them to his own benefit.

Now, he was sat with Plagueis, Drina, and Hugo, who kept nervously looking over at Plagueis which was justified because of the fact that he was his son. The reunion had been...tense at first, but soon enough, both Muun's warmed up to each other, and considering Plagueis had been dead for ten years, Hugo was simply happy to have his father back, and Plagueis was happy with the fact that he had at least one member of his family that was still alive.

Sitting in his throne, Mordain addressed the group.

Mordain: It seems our old friend, Rush Clovis, has been sticking his nose where it does not belong. At least for the Republic. For us, he's been practically advertising what he's been doing.

Hugo: (Scoffs) Why do we need to even keep track of that worm's activities? He's more trouble than he's worth.

Drina: I'm inclined to agree with Hugo. Clovis is nothing more than a simple, bothersome pest.

Mordain: And you are correct. Both of you. However, he was played by us once, and he shall once again be our unknowing agent. You see, Lord Plagueis and Hugo here, are the best of the best when it comes to the Banking clan. Lord Plagueis was once the spotlight of it, and now, his son is carrying on that legacy completely undetected. As such, I feel that it is time that the Banking Clan gains new leadership. One that will be out agent of chaos and will firmly keep the CIS in business.

Drina: And how are we supposed to achieve that my lord?

Mordain: (Looks at Plagueis) Lord Plagueis, if you would?

He said as the elder Muun grinned and stood up, sending a small smile at his son as he did so. Approaching the desk, he layed down a holo-disk and a list appeared.

Plagueis: Thanks to the efforts of my son, we have procured the location of secret accounts belonging to the core five. These accounts prove that they are corrupt and have been embezzling funds. Rush Clovis has already acquired files that put suspicion on the Banking clan, so all we need to do, is control him with this list.

Mordain: (Steps up) And that is where you come in Hugo.

He looks to the Muun, who's grinning.

Mordain: You are seen as a respectable senator in the Republic. Your reputation is so strong that any suspicion on you is barely existent. As such, you are the perfect man to lead the Banking clan.

He then turns back to the rest of the group.

Mordain: I have formulated a plan that will help us along with that goal. Clovis is greedy, as is the core five. He preaches morals and ethics, yet is no different than those he supposedly stands against. When approached with the offer of being placed into the position of the Banking clan, he will not refuse. This does two things. It gets the core five out of the way, and gives Clovis the delusion that he is in power, when he is not. You see, if it were to come to light that Clovis had help from the Separatists in getting to his position, then he would be outsted from his position. The Banking Clan is then left in chaos and left with two options. Option one, they turn over control of the banks to the Chancellor of the Republic, and since the Muun's don't want to give up their control over their money, they will obviously seek an alternative solution. Which brings me to option two. The Muun government will look for someone who is respected among the Republic, and is excellent with his job. And since no Muun has a reputation like Hugo, they will obviously ask him.
