Case 27: Band Time

The second day of the cultural festival, Shinichi and the others were preparing equipment for the band competition. 
Ran:"Guys, it's almost your turn, are you ready?" 
Kaito:"More or less, why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be on duty in class?" 
Akako:"Oh, that. We asked for permission so we could watch you guys" 
Not far from them, Shinichi and Felix were seen receiving phone calls from someone. 
Shinichi:"Alright, Inspector Megure, thank you for your help" 
Felix:"Alright, thank you" 
They both ended their calls and then joined the others in conversation. 
Eisuke:"Who were you two talking to?" 

Shinichi:"I called Inspector Megure to ask for some police officers to be on guard here. After hearing Felix's conversation with Vermouth yesterday, wouldn't it be better if we strengthened the school's security?" 
Felix:"I asked for help from the FBI and MI6" 
Felix:"Well, though I hope nothing happens" 
Ran, Eisuke, and Akako then left Shinichi and the band to get ready and take their seats in the audience area to watch the performances of other groups. Shinichi's group got the last slot to perform. When it was their turn to perform, of course, the audience cheered for them, although some looked a bit confused to see Shinichi on stage. 

Their performance began with a violin duet by Shinichi and Shiho, followed by piano by Saguru, then the others joined in with their respective instruments. They performed "Perfect" by One Direction.

Masumi:"When I first saw you

Felix:"Girl, I hope you're sure

They then stopped playing and clapped in rhythm. 
Felix:"If you like causing trouble up in hotel rooms" 
Masumi:"And if you like having secret little rendezvous" 
Felix:"If you like to do the things you know that we shouldn't do" 
Masumi:"Then baby, I'm perfect" 
Felix:"Baby, I'm perfect for you" 
They all then resumed playing their respective instruments. 
Felix & Masumi:"And if you like midnight driving with the windows down

So let's start right now" 

After they finished their performance, the audience immediately clapped and cheered louder than before. However, it didn't last long, as they soon heard an explosion from behind the school, causing everyone to panic. Shortly after, Felix received a call from Subaru. 
Felix:"Shuu-nii, what happened?" 
Subaru:"It seems that organization planted a bomb in the back field of the school. Fortunately, no one was there, so it looks like there are no casualties" 
Felix:"Did you manage to find the person who planted the bomb?" 

Subaru:"We and the police are still searching" 
Shortly after, Felix heard gunshots from outside the hall. 
Felix:"I hear gunshots from the direction of the front gate. Did something happen?" 
Subaru:"I don't know, I can't reach the people guarding the front gate" 
Felix then turned to his friends, and they all went to the second floor of the hall to check what was happening outside. They saw many people dressed in black carrying firearms. 
Shinichi:"Tch, they finally showed up after being gone for so long" 

Luckily, the people in black fired their weapons into the air as a warning, so there were still no casualties. While they were checking what was happening outside, Felix noticed two people with snipers on a rooftop not too far from their position. He then told everyone to duck. 
Felix:"Everyone, duck" 
His friends followed his orders and immediately ducked. 
Masumi:"What's going on?" 
Felix:"I see two snipers on the rooftop, but it seems they haven't noticed us yet" 
Kaito:"What about the police, MI6, and FBI?" 
Felix:"Shuu-nii said most of them are in the back field, so they should be safe" 

Ran:"Then, what are we going to do now?" 
Shinichi:"Ran, I want you to take Sonoko and the others to a safe place" 
Ran:"What about you guys?" 
Kaito:"Of course, we're going to help fight them" 
Ran:"Alright, then be careful" 
They then split up, but before parting, Ran hugged Shinichi. 
Ran:"Please, be safe" 
Shinichi returned Ran's hug. 
Shinichi:"You too"
